Recently, the issue of symbiosis of fishery and power has aroused extensive discussion due to land leasing and ecological worries. On the 28th, the Joint Forum of Marine Science and Technology also invited scholars to share research on the theme of symbiosis of fishery and electricity and the application of microalgae in view of green energy circular economy. The study found that whether the symbiosis of fish and electricity is beneficial depends on the cultivation of fish species, and the shading effect of solar panels is beneficial to the growth of some fish species, but it must be supplemented by more work on the management of culture ponds; outside the forum, photoelectricity operators, scholars, and farmers have set up the "Taiwan Wisdom Fish and Light Association," hoping to become a bridge for farmers, photovoltaics, and academic circles, and to upgrade domestic aquaculture fisheries with green energy resources.

Chen Zhe-jun, an associate professor in the Department of Aquatic Bioscience at Chiayi University, explained that the dilemma of the solar energy industry lies in the high demand for land and the need to reach a large sunshine area in order to be beneficial. In China, some fish ponds that do not require sunshine hours can be used to create an established culture environment with solar panels to improve the efficiency of water quality management and epidemic prevention and control.

At present, there are several ways to combine photovoltaic facilities with aquaculture fisheries, one is water surface solar energy facilities, the other is column type, solar panels are directly used as the roof of culture ponds, and solar panels are attached to the roof of indoor culture ponds. In the part of water surface facilities, Chen Zhijun used floating raft water surface facilities to simulate 40% of the water area in 106 and 107, and conducted culture experiments on tilapia, perch, milkfish and white shrimp. The study found that the greatest impact is the amount of dissolved oxygen and temperature, and the amount of dissolved oxygen can be broken through facilities such as water tankers, because shading can reduce the temperature in the pond and benefit the growth of fish. However, in terms of management, the use of surface-type optoelectronic facilities needs to overcome the problems of fish harvesting, fish pontoon conservation, and removal of organisms attached to buoys, while in shellfish culture of algae and bacteria in the filter, if solar panels completely cover the surface of the pond, it will be not conducive to algae photosynthesis and affect the growth of shellfish.

Chen Zhe-jun believes that whether it is a pillar or an additional solar panel on the top of a culture pond, it helps to insulate the farm in summer and heat preservation in winter, and can help adjust the production time and increase production capacity. therefore, the production per unit area under the solar panel is not difficult to achieve the goal of more than 70% set by the Council of Agriculture. Some domestic operators have seen the effectiveness of the facilities and will invest in the second farm this year.

However, because domestic farmers are used to operating large ponds, the cost of initial facilities is higher, which in turn affects the willingness of farmers to invest. In addition, some farmers also have doubts about the possible pollution caused by solar devices, so Chen Zhe-jun said that this year he will continue to cooperate with several domestic farmers who have installed solar panels to collect data in the pond. and set up feeding suggestions for different stocking species under photovoltaic facilities, so that farmers can have a reference basis.

Huang, a founding member of the Taiwan Wisdom Fish Light Association, said that the challenge of climate change in recent years has made the operation of aquaculture fisheries more difficult, but the operating scale of some farmers does not have enough capital to upgrade their facilities. therefore, if we can use the funds of the green energy industry to improve the efficiency of facilities and management, it will be a win-win situation for the development of aquaculture fisheries and green energy. However, at this stage, due to the lack of consistent requirements and norms for green energy operators, those who are willing to operate are excluded, and farmers and conservationists also have some misunderstandings about the green energy industry, so it is hoped that the association can become a bridge between the two sides to assist in communication, so that aquaculture fisheries can develop steadily and operate sustainably on the basis of green energy.
