It is normal to encounter plant disease in the process of growing orchids in potted plants, both veteran and novice potted friends are often unavoidable. Especially for novice orchids, the probability of getting sick is often very high. Therefore, we need to master scientific breeding skills in the process of growing orchids in order to avoid or reduce the risk of plant disease. So, how to prevent orchids from getting sick.

In order to grow orchids in pots, ventilation conditions and watering methods are very critical, and the flowerpots and pot soil and watering selected for orchids are usually not so strict. However, with the long-term watering and fertilization, the basin soil will gradually occur hardening phenomenon, and its air permeability and water permeability will gradually become worse.

If we can loosen the soil or change the soil regularly, but if we turn a deaf ear to the permeability of the basin soil for a long time, then when we water too much, the plant is easy to get sick, especially in the hot, humid and airtight environment. It is mainly due to the bacteria destroying the root system, leading to rotten roots, and in serious cases, it may also directly cause the phenomenon of dead plants.

Of course, watering should also be scientific and reasonable, the original is generally slowly injected along the edge of the inner wall of the basin, as far as possible not to let the water splash into the heart of the orchid leaves. Because if the water is splashed into the leaf heart due to improper watering, it is also easy to cause orchid plant to get sick, and the direct consequence is to cause rotten heart and seriously affect the growth of the plant.

If the potted soil is not properly prepared, it is also relatively easy to lead to the phenomenon of illness after the orchid is put on the pot. It is recommended to keep the basin soil acidic and avoid planting in alkaline soil, because orchids are acid-loving plants. However, it is necessary to choose granular plant material for orchid compounding. At the same time, the plant material has good permeability and drainage effect, so it is not prone to hardening and stagnant water. Generally use rotten leaf soil, coarse sand and cinder, and mix them well according to scientific proportion.

Not only that, when we choose orchid seedlings, try to choose strong seedlings, must not buy sick or sick orchid seedlings. Because some orchid seedlings previously infected with bacteria or viruses are often difficult to cure. If the use of such orchid seedlings, not only not easy to feed, but also let the residual bacteria or virus continue to spread, and even spread to other plants.

Therefore, if we want to plant orchids in pots to avoid getting sick, we should first choose strong orchid seedlings, and then the growth environment should be smooth, the pot soil should be acidic and not easy to consolidate, water and fertilizer should be appropriate but not excessive, and so on. As long as these conditions are met, it is relatively easy to raise orchids well.
