Although the orchid blossoms light and elegant, it can exude a pleasant aroma, coupled with thick green leaves, high ornamental value, so it is deeply loved by people. But for beginners, it is usually difficult to raise orchids. Today, the editor will share with you some tips on orchid cultivation, that is, the methods and skills of potted orchids.

If we want to raise orchids well, we first need to understand their growth habits, and then create a comfortable growth environment for them. Orchids like moist growth environment, do not tolerate strong light, and are more suitable for growing in an air-permeable and water-permeable environment. Therefore, we can add some peanut shells to the soil, mix it with rotten leaf soil, garden soil and sand according to the ratio of 2 to 2 and 1 to 1, and then mix it well after fermentation.

The basin soil prepared in this way is both breathable and permeable, and peanut shells can provide rich nutrients for plants. At the same time, we can also add some earthworm dung to the basin soil, because earthworm manure is a kind of natural organic fertilizer, which is rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium. Mixing it into the pot soil can well promote the orchid to blossom.

Scientific watering is another important part of raising orchids. The original generally adheres to the watering principle of "dry and wet" to ensure that the potted soil is slightly moist. Do not cause stagnant water caused by too much watering, otherwise it is easy to cause retting root phenomenon, the direct consequence is that the plant has rotten roots, thus affecting the normal growth of the plant. Of course, if the plant doesn't grow well, it won't be able to blossom.

In addition, changing pots and soil regularly is also an important management means to promote the growth of orchids, and it is generally recommended to change pots and soil once a year. We can use our own preparation of fertile and loose rotten leaf soil. However, in the process of changing pots, pruning is generally needed, mainly to cut off rotten roots, empty roots, old and weak fine roots, in order to stimulate plant germination and absorb new roots with stronger ability.

In the hot summer, due to the high temperature, hot weather and strong light, potted orchids are easy to dehydrate and the leaf tips are withered and yellow. At this time, we should move the orchid to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, or it can be placed on a balcony that is convenient for shade. At the same time, spray water to the plant once a day, which can effectively avoid or reduce the withered and yellow phenomenon at the tip of the orchid leaf.
