Potted orchids can bloom longer and flowers will be more beautiful if we manage them properly. On the contrary, if the maintenance management is improper, it may lead to the phenomenon that it is difficult for orchids to bloom. This is the last thing we want to see for flowering plants. Promoting the flower bud differentiation of orchids is the key to ensure its flowering, but in order to promote flower bud differentiation smoothly, the daily maintenance and management work needs to be done well. So, how to raise orchids to promote flower bud differentiation?

1. Reasonable lighting

Orchids in the seedling stage do not have high requirements for light, so they can be maintained and managed in a semi-overcast environment. However, adult plants prefer the space with sufficient scattered light, spring, summer and autumn can provide full sunshine in the morning and evening, proper shade at noon, and all-day light in winter. But the light Guoqiang is easy to burn the orchid leaves, the light is too weak and easy to cause the orchid leaves to grow, resulting in bad flowering, thus affecting the ornamental.

Second, adjust the temperature

Temperature is one of the most important factors for raising orchids, especially one of the key conditions to ensure smooth flowering as scheduled. The most suitable temperature for orchid growth is usually between 15 °C and 30 °C, but the temperature tends to exceed 30 °C indoors in summer. At this time, we can put the potted orchids in a well-ventilated semi-shady place, which is more conducive to its smooth summer.

However, orchids usually need to promote and complete flower bud differentiation in a relatively low temperature environment, and the goal of flower promotion can be achieved by keeping the ambient temperature within 20 °C. However, the temperature should not be too low, if the ambient temperature is lower than 5 °C, it is very disadvantageous to the flower bud development of orchids, and even more prone to frostbite.

Third, maintain humidity

Orchids prefer the moist growth environment, and the original should keep the basin soil moist as far as possible during the growing period, in order to ensure that there is appropriate humidity in the basin to promote growth, especially the growth of roots. But if the humidity in the basin is too high, it is also easy to cause rotten roots. If the weather is dry, it is also necessary to spray foliar water to keep the plant moisturized, so as to form a microclimate environment that is more conducive to the growth of orchids and even promote flower bud differentiation.

IV. Scientific fertilization

If you want to keep the orchid thriving, especially the need to maintain exuberant growth and smooth flowering, nutrients can not be lacking. In the spring and autumn growing season, we need more fertilizer for orchids, which can not only meet their own growth, but also promote flowering. The fertilizers are mainly organic fertilizers, supplemented by inorganic fertilizers, and mainly topdressing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements.

5. Pruning and changing pots

Orchids generally cut off their pedicels in time after flowering, and at the same time do a good job of changing pots and soil. After removing the pot, remove the old soil from the root of the plant, trim the root and cut the leaves properly, replace it with new pot soil and plant it again, and continue to do a good job of maintenance and management.
