Many friends like to grow camellias, and some of them even go to the flower market to buy camellias with buds and grow them at home. However, camellias that have just been bought with buds must pay attention to maintenance and management methods, otherwise it is easy to cause many bad phenomena such as falling buds and leaves. So, how to maintain and manage camellias that have just been bought with buds?

In contrast, spring and autumn are more suitable for buying camellias to grow at home, but if camellias with buds, it is still difficult to feed, at least not easy to raise. Today, the editor will share with you how to avoid the phenomenon of buds and leaves of newly bought camellias.

First, do not rush to change the basin

After we buy back the potted camellia plants with buds, we must not rush to change the pots, because there is an adaptive process for plants to transfer from one environment to another. Changing the basin at this time, it is not only easy to cause a large number of falling buds, fallen leaves and many other bad growth phenomena, but also not easy to survive.

If you want to change the pot, you usually need to keep it for a while, and wait for the plant to slow down before it can be done. And it is generally recommended to wait until the flowers fade in the coming year before changing pots, which is safer.

Second, there are bare roots to cover the soil.

If we buy camellias and find some roots exposed on the basin, we should cover them with a layer of soil in time until all the bare roots are covered under the soil layer. In this way, the plant can better absorb nutrients and water from the soil.

If you cover the soil, you must choose a loose and breathable matrix, the original editor recommends the use of pine needle soil, because pine needle soil not only has a high degree of looseness and strong air permeability, but also has good fertility and can supplement a lot of nutrients for the plant.

Third, remove the flower-blocking leaves

After we get the potted camellias, we will generally find that many buds are blocked by leaves, which is easy to block the light, which is disadvantageous to flowering. In order to promote the development and growth of the bud, we need to remove the leaves that block the bud in time, so that the bud can be exposed as much as possible.

And if there are more buds of potted camellias, we have to remove some of them properly. Generally speaking, a few more buds can be retained at the top of the plant, but not too many at the bottom of the plant. But you also need to remove the leaves that block the bud. This can save a lot of nutrients and make them more concentrated, thus making the retained buds blossom better.

We usually buy camellias in spring and autumn, because after a period of scientific maintenance, it is difficult to lose buds and leaves, and the plants grow better, blossom in the later stage is also gorgeous, and potted plants are more ornamental.
