Camellia is a kind of delicate, beautiful and moving flowers and plants, so it is deeply loved and welcomed by the majority of potted friends. However, for raising camellias in winter, we need to prepare enough nutrients for camellias because of the need for buds to blossom.

However, even if many potted people apply fertilizer as required, the growth of the plant does not seem to be so good. Why? Today, the editor will analyze the reasons for you and tell you how to cultivate camellias in winter.

First, increase the light.

Due to the great difference in winter climate between southern and northern China, there will be some differences in the growth of camellias. Basin friends in the north often need more light than those in the south during conservation. Light can effectively increase photosynthesis and form nutrients for plant growth, thus promoting the formation and differentiation of flower buds.

Second, supplement phosphate fertilizer

If you want the plant to grow well, you need sufficient nutrients, especially the camellia, which blossoms in winter and spring, need enough nutrition to ensure it can blossom smoothly. In order to promote the flowering of camellias, it is usually based on topdressing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and the effect is better by spraying foliar fertilizer.

By comparison, potassium dihydrogen phosphate is a better foliar fertilizer, and the method of use is also very simple. But must control the concentration, usually controlled at 0.2% is more appropriate. Fully dissolve potassium dihydrogen phosphate in water and spray it on the leaf surface. Of course, the whole plant should be sprayed thoroughly, especially on both sides of the leaves.

Of course, the time of spraying foliar fertilizer should also be mastered, because it is winter topdressing, we must consider the influence of temperature, otherwise it will not only not play the purpose of replenishing nutrients, but may even damage the plant. We try to choose the time when the temperature is the highest during the day, so that the leaves can absorb nutrients better. Generally, it can be sprayed once a week, and if there is any fertilizer and water left after spraying, it can also be used to irrigate roots.

In winter, in order to make the camellias grow better and the buds grow fuller and stronger, we might as well manage them from these two aspects. After all, winter light and nutrition are too important for the growth and flowering of camellias. As long as these two conditions are met, it will be very easy for camellias to bloom as scheduled.
