Jasmine flowers white and accompanied by fragrance, the flowering period is very long, from May to November, is unmatched by many flowers and plants. However, when jasmine enters the flowering season, conservation management often needs to be more careful than usual. So, how to maintain the jasmine flowering period?

First of all, we need to talk about basin soil, because jasmine likes a slightly acidic soil environment that is fertile and loose, permeable and permeable, so as to plant and cultivate in pots, we can't just use garden soil. After all, garden soil is sticky and prone to hardening, thus affecting the respiration of plant roots, as well as affecting the infiltration of fertilizer and water, reducing the utilization rate of fertilizer and water, and easily causing rotting roots.

If we cannot find good pot soil for a while and have to use garden soil, we should often loosen the soil for the plant, and because the garden soil is difficult to penetrate, it is best to continue watering for more than 1 minute until the basin soil is thoroughly watered. But generally we use rotten leaf soil, vermiculite, sand and other mixed matrix, so that the permeability is better and it is easier to water.

And the jasmine in the flowering stage consumes a lot of water, so the original water demand is also large, so the basin soil should be watered in time after drying. Watering at flowering stage is one of the basic conditions to ensure plant flowering, and it is recommended that it be watered in the morning and evening. But in the flowering period, watering must not be excessive, otherwise it is easy to cause thunder, bud, and even the phenomenon of falling flowers.

Jasmine likes light, especially during pregnancy, but it should also be protected from sunlight in summer, otherwise the plant will be easily burned. Not only that, but also need to control the light after the completion of the bud, generally only need to provide sufficient scattered light during blooming. However, it is necessary to pay attention to ensuring that the environment is ventilated smoothly.

In addition to light, temperature control is also important. Due to the high temperature, hot weather and obvious water transpiration in summer, shading measures should be taken in time, and more water should be sprayed around the plant to keep moisture and cool down. In the middle of summer, it is often only necessary to provide scattered light, and the temperature is best controlled within 28 °C. If you want jasmine to blossom in autumn and winter, you need to keep the ambient temperature above 12 °C.

As for fertilization, sufficient fertilizer is generally applied before flowering. During the growing period, nitrogen fertilizer should be given priority to, supplemented by phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, while near flowering stage, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be used mainly with little or no application of nitrogen fertilizer. If it is in the flowering stage, fertilization for jasmine is generally not recommended, otherwise the flowering time of the plant may be affected due to improper fertilization, so that the flowering can not be carried out as scheduled.
