Acer chinensis is widely used in urban gardens. It not only has independent landscape representation, but also is an important combination material of landscapes, architecture, roads, sculptures and fountains in gardens. It is suitable for planting in lawns, mounds, stream banks, pool banks or decorated wall corners, pavilions and flower beds, as well as in courtyard roadsides and windows. Bonsai also has a unique flavor.

The leaf color of Acer maple has obvious seasonal changes, which can be matched with evergreen plants such as sweet-scented osmanthus, Luohan pine and other evergreen plants in the plant configuration. The upper layer is covered with rhododendron, auspicious grass, book grass or lawn, and the upper layer is covered with evergreen or deciduous tall trees such as Cinnamomum camphora, Koelreuteria paniculata and so on.

Acer truncatum is propagated by sowing and its varieties are propagated by grafting. In October, seeds were collected and slightly dried to remove wings, that is, autumn sowing or spring sowing after wet sand accumulation. Spring sowing is carried out in February, strip sowing, with a seed amount of 4-5 kg / mu. Cover the soil and cover the grass after sowing. Sprouted and unearthed in late March, in order to prevent sunburn, seedlings need short-term shading and watering to prevent drought from July to August. The height of the seedlings could reach 30-50 cm in that year, and the Spring Equinox planted them the next year to cultivate large seedlings. The seedlings of different specifications were cultivated according to the needs of greening.

For horticultural varieties, multi-row grafting techniques mainly focus on the following:

1. Choose rootstocks and scions with strong growth.

The rootstock can be planted with Acer mongolica seedlings with a ground diameter of 1-1.5 cm in 2023, and annual branches are selected as scions.

2. Master the time and method of grafting.

The grafting should be carried out from the first and middle of March to the first and middle of April (according to different regions and different phenological periods). Before the sap flows, cut the branches of the red maple to grow 6-7 cm with two full buds at the top. Dip the scion speed in the melted paraffin liquid, coat its skin with a thin layer of wax, then put it in a human plastic bag and set it aside in a humid and low temperature place.

Grafting should be carried out before the rootstock germinates, and the grafting method should be grafted or grafted by branches. Generally, the interface can be healed 25-30 days after grafting. The rootstock sprouting should be erased in time, and the rootstock should be untied after survival, and re-binding or soil cultivation should be carried out to prevent wind break, and then strengthen fertilizer management.
