The method of making miniature camellia bonsai

Put a few pots of camellias in the bedroom, can decorate the environment more elegant, in order to increase the interest of life. Potted camellias will have higher ornamental value if they are modeled and planted in a suitable bonsai. Family production of camellias bonsai, plants should not be too large, to make miniature bonsai and small and medium-sized bonsai is better.

There are two ways to make miniature camellia bonsai:

1. Make miniature bonsai with camellia seedlings.

The 2-year-old 3-year-old camellia seedlings, with thin trunk and soft branches, can be tied into miniature bonsai with lead wire at will, such as the trunk is tied into a straight type without adding pan, the trunk is inclined into an oblique type, the trunk is bent into a cliff type, and the trunk is bent into a curved type.

Making miniature bonsai with camellia seedlings has the advantages of simple operation, concise lines and strong plasticity, but after all, camellia seedlings can only make simple shapes and can not be tied up too much. Branches should not be too numerous, mainly concise and smooth, excessive pursuit of winding form is easy to expose artificial traces.

2. Using the root of camellia as rootstock to make miniature bonsai.

First of all, collect wild camellia seeds and sow them in miniature plastic bags containing cultured soil. When the seedling is unearthed, put the plastic bag upside down for 4 to 5 days, so that the root system of the seedling begins to bend. After turning the plastic bags upside down from different directions for a few days at regular intervals, the roots of camellia seedlings are bent into different shapes. After being cultivated for 1-2 years, the root system can be used for grafting. Select a small pot about the size of the palm of the hand, plant the curved root of camellia in the basin at different angles, and graft it by split grafting.

Before grafting, the seedlings were dug out and washed, the main roots were cut short, leaving a curved section, the seedlings were cut short to the height of 37.5px from the roots, and split on the cross section. After the scion is inserted, cut a thin piece of aluminum (toothpaste shell) with long 75px and wide 25px to wrap it, then expose the curved root on it, and bury the root in the soil. The basin should not be too shallow, it should be a little deeper. The basin cover is covered with plastic film cover, which is placed in the shade for management.
