The method of making cherry bonsai

Potted cherries are miniaturized cherry orchards. It can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery full of flowers and fruits, but also have good fruit at the same time. In recent years, with the improvement of potted technology, it is gradually stepping into the balcony and courtyard of thousands of families.

Potted cherry blossoms in spring, the fruit is ripe in early summer, the flowers are beautiful and colorful, which is of ornamental value. The fruit ripening period is very early and the flavor is good.

2, basin and basin soil: the basin has a variety of specifications and texture, generally choose tile basin with good permeability, pottery basin and so on. As the growth of the tree in the pot is easy to dwarf, but also easy to produce flowers and small fruit, most fruit branches, bouquet-like fruit branches can bear fruit. Therefore, small diameter basin, medium and large diameter basin can be selected, generally 20-25cm diameter basin is better.

The basin soil is suitable to be prepared with a variety of materials, such as straw compost soil, garden soil, sand soil, etc., which can be mixed well with 1kgN, P and K compound fertilizers per cubic meter of basin soil. In order to kill bacterial root cancer bacteria, grubs and other diseases and insect pests, the basin soil should be evenly sprayed with 0.1% formalin solution on the soil (1m3 soil medicine 500m1), then sealed with plastic film, fumigated for 1 day and night for disinfection, and then dried for 4 days after removing the film.

3. Potting: the potting time is in the dormant period of cherries, and potting in late autumn is beneficial to root recovery. Put 3 pieces of broken tiles at the bottom of the basin, put a layer of fine sand, fill part of the basin soil, stretch the cherry seedling roots on the basin soil and then gently fold the edge of the basin and gently compact the edge of the basin soil. Finally, the basin soil is a few centimeters away from the basin as a watering gate. After a period of time, the basin soil sinks and adds some basin soil.

There are two quick ways to make it.

(1) go directly to the pot to enjoy the cherry blossoms which are compact and graceful in shape in the nursery, and enjoy them directly in the pot. For example, "short branches droop", the branches naturally droop, the tree shape is beautiful and strange, and you can watch it after a little trimming on the basin; "Royal car return", "Pine Moon" and so on, the tree shape is compact, the pattern is beautiful, the design and color is beautiful, and you can also enjoy it directly on the basin.

(2) there are three sources of cherry blossom trees for transforming cherry blossoms into bonsai.

a. The weak cherry trees growing in the garden, most of their cadres are in the shape of a clumsy figure, which is the best in the production of cherry bonsai.

b. The shape of the tree is poor and is not suitable for cherry trees arranged in the garden.

c. We can also use cherry blossom trees whose trunks have died but whose roots are still alive to make cherry bonsai. We adopt the method of high connecting and changing head to carry on the transformation. The cherry blossom tree can be reshaped and then changed, which is generally carried out by the combination of pruning and binding. The high grafting of cherry blossoms is generally carried out before the sprouting of cherry blossoms in early spring (Wuhan is usually in mid-late March), and the specific time is based on the phenology of that year. The scion can also be cut off first and refrigerated in the refrigerator, and then grafted when the rootstock germinates, and the survival rate is also very high. When the cherry blossom uses the cutting method to change the head, the technical essentials that should be paid attention to are as follows:

Cutting method of ① scion and rootstock. Cut a long slope at the lower bud 1cm of the scion, about 2-3cm, and cut a short side on the opposite side of the long side, within the length of 1cm. Cut the scion into small segments with 2-4 buds and 5-6cm length. The branches similar to the scion thickness were selected as the rootstock on the cherry tree to be reformed. the short section of the rootstock was cut flat, the left hand held the rootstock, and the right hand was cut directly at the edge of the xylem of the rootstock (the section of the rootstock was 1: 4). The length and width of the cut correspond to the long side of the scion.

② insert. Insert the scion length obliquely toward the rootstock, align the cambium on one side, and wrap the cortex of the rootstock incision around the scion.

③ was ligated. Use a plastic film strip with a width of about 1cm (so that it has a certain degree of elasticity) to be bound, and the film strip must be tightened when binding.

④ bag. After grafting, cover the root of the grafted seedling with a white transparent small plastic bag, and tie the mouth with packing rope, which can play the role of moisturizing. The size of a small plastic bag is about 12cm × 8cm. We can graft cherry blossoms with similar florescence on a pot of cherry blossoms to produce ten kinds of cherry blossoms with two flowers in one pot and more than one in one pot.
