Beech trees in the wild are often tall and majestic in shape, large canopy, very beautiful plant type, rich and colorful leaves with seasonal changes, dense shade in the peak growth period, and are widely used in gardens and other aspects. it is an important ornamental tree species.

In addition to the surrounding outdoor landscape, the tree can also be viewed as a bonsai. It is not only graceful in appearance and strong in sprouting ability, but also very resistant to banza, so it is a good material for bonsai. Today, the editor will briefly talk about the method of making tree-shaped bonsai for you.

I. sources of materials

Beech trees can breed young plants by sowing, which can be used as the basic seedling source for making bonsai. The fruit is usually picked and dried at the end of autumn and stored in the shade, and can be sown in the early spring of the following year. However, like many seed sowing, it is necessary to soak the seeds 1-2 days in advance.

2. Young plant transplanting

The roots of young beech trees are not only slender, but also very resilient, so when digging young plants, we should first cut off the surrounding roots, and then dig out the plants together with soil balls, so as to avoid tearing the root bark of the plants and affecting the survival rate of transplanting. Its pot method is basically the same as that of most potted tree species, and it will not be described in detail here.

Third, pruning modeling

The beech tree is suitable for a straight-dry shape because it is symmetrically branched and has a strong ability to sprout, but the terminal buds often do not germinate endlessly. Every year in early spring, 2-3 competitive branches sprout from the lateral buds of the branches, so it is not easy to grow a straight trunk. However, in order to cultivate a straight trunk, proper pruning should be carried out every year after transplanting. In order to make the trunk grow stronger, it is recommended to cut the trunk longitudinally with a knife when the beech tree germinates every year.

IV. Maintenance and management

Beech trees like light and warm growth environment, although the requirements of the basin soil environment is not high, but the use of fertile soil planting, will grow better, and considering the strong expansibility of mature roots, it is recommended to plant deeply. Usually only need to keep the basin soil slightly moist, must not cause excessive watering basin technology; more watering can be appropriate in summer, watering should be strictly controlled in winter. In order to keep the plant growing well, we can replenish the cake fertilizer and water timely and appropriately to increase nutrients.
