Planting methods and techniques of Tulip
Many friends have asked the editor how to plant tulips. Now the editor has sorted out the planting methods of tulips so that everyone can take better care of their beloved tulips and let them bloom beautifully in the coming year.
1. Prepare the basin and soil: the basin does not need to be too large, the best depth is 20 centimeters, and the diameter of the basin depends on how many bulbs you plant. Ordinary families can have normal flowerpots, and the requirements of the soil are not high, so they can be loose and breathable. You can refer to the following figure.
2. First put the soil not less than 10 cm deep in the basin, and then put the seed ball (pay attention to the tip upward, don't plant it upside down). The soil above is covered with about 8-10 cm. Remember to water thoroughly after planting.
3. After planting the tulips should be placed in the backlit ventilation place, and the flowering should go through two processes: the rooting stage and the growing period. The first is that the rooting period takes about 3 weeks, and the ideal temperature is 5 ℃-9 ℃. It is generally placed in a cool, dark place with backlight to let them take root and dormant.
4. It is about to enter the growth period, that is, from germination to flowering, it takes about 4-5 weeks, and the ideal growth temperature is between 10 ℃ and 20 ℃. But be careful, if the temperature is too high, it will lead to blind buds! (can form buds but cannot blossom)
PS: the editor specially asked an experienced gardener. Here are some tips to make your flowers bloom better.
1. Whether in the rooting period or the growing period, keeping the ideal temperature can make the tulips stronger.
2. During the growing period, the higher the temperature, the faster the flowers bloom, but this will affect the quality of flowers to a certain extent.
The above is the planting method of tulips. The editor hopes that everyone can grow their own beautiful flowers. If you have any other questions, you are welcome to interact with the editor through Wechat.
1. Notice before planting
1. Preservation method: tulips should be stored in a cool and ventilated place before planting.
2. Planting temperature: start planting as soon as the temperature drops to 10 degrees Celsius from October to December, ensuring that planting is completed 2 weeks before freezing
3. Bulb treatment: peeling off the outer epidermis of bulbs, especially near the root disc, is beneficial to rooting. Soak in 1000 times carbendazim for 30 minutes to dry naturally.
4. Soil selection: new soil is better, requiring good ventilation-looseness-drainage, PH value is 6.0-7.0. EC value is lower than 1.54ms, we can choose the soil we have prepared for our parents.
5. Flowerpot selection: select the pot with holes at the bottom, breathable and drained. Generally speaking, 3-5 balls can be planted in pots with about 15cm caliber.
II. Planting course
The first step: there is a layer of grayish-brown epidermis outside the tulip bulb. Peeling off the epidermis before planting can improve the speed of germination and rooting, which is conducive to growth.
Step 2: remove carbendazim in half, dilute it with two bottles of pure water, soak the peeled tulip balls in carbendazim for 30-40 minutes, soak them and dry them naturally. (don't pour out diluted carbendazim, it can be used to water the flowers.)
Step 3: put some special media in the flowerpot before planting, and then put the seed ball in. Put the seed ball in the middle and stand upright. The planting depth is generally 1.5 times the size of the bulb. Plant several trees in a pot according to the size of the flowerpot. Generally, 3 plants can be planted in triangular shape in 15cm basin. When filling the soil, use your fingers to press properly around the flowerpot to better secure the seeding ball. Do not press in the middle of the bulb, otherwise it is easy to damage. Just press it and fill it softly. Usually water once immediately after planting, and then keep the soil moist until sprouting.
III. Long leaf stage
At this time, you need to bask in the sun for 2 hours a day to promote the growth of leaves, during which the roots of tulips have grown very long, so you need to pay special attention every time you change water, so as not to hurt the roots. Tulips are more hardy, and there must be enough direct light during the day, otherwise the plant will grow too long, and the serious ones will not blossom.
IV. Growth and flowering period
During the shading period, after low temperature promotes root growth, the temperature is slightly higher and has long leaves, preferably with high temperature and plenty of sunlight, so that the stems and leaves are plump and the flowers are luxuriant.
Tulips are more hardy, and there must be enough direct light during the day, otherwise the plant will grow too long, and the serious ones will not blossom. When flowering, put it in a brightly lit place for 4 hours a day, and enjoy it indoors for the rest of the time. It takes about 50-60 days to blossom.
Tulips are bulb flowers planted in autumn and blooming in spring. They like to be cool and afraid of heat. Under natural conditions, it is most suitable to plant about 10 ℃ at 15 cm underground in autumn, because this temperature is suitable for root growth, which is around "National Day" in North China and from late October to early November in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Before the arrival of cold winter, good root development is very important for the good growth of the following spring. In winter, the planted bulbs develop further at low temperature, break dormancy through a long winter low temperature, sprout in early spring, spread leaves and blossom with the rise of temperature.
