Hyacinth is a perennial herbaceous bulbous plant, but also one of the most fragrant flowering plants, with a variety of flowers, such as white, red, blue, purple, etc., known as five-color daffodils. Plant a hyacinth in late autumn and early winter, and you can see the hyacinth of various colors before and after the Spring Festival.

If the soil species, put some subsoil in the basin, the top soil cover 10 cm-15 cm, can be placed in a shady place, keep the soil moist, do not let the soil always wet, after 7-8 weeks, when the bud grows to more than 10 cm, remove the covering soil to make the sun shine, usually planted in October-November, and bloom in February-March.

If hydroponic culture, soak the seed ball to the bottom of the ball, then put it in a dark place and cover the bottle with a black plastic bag. After about 20 days of all-black germination, remove the black plastic bag. After the root has grown, the water does not miss the hyacinth, so that the root can breathe, and then put it outside to be exposed to the sun. At first, it will shine for 1-2 hours a day, and then gradually increase to 7-8 hours. Most of them can blossom during the Spring Festival when the weather is fine.

For most flower lovers, they prefer hyacinth to water cultivation. Hydroponic hyacinth not only looks clean and hygienic, but also theoretically only needs to replenish water, which reduces the confusion about how much water is watered. Therefore, today we mainly introduce the hyacinth hydroponics method. If you want to get the soil culture method, you can leave a message at the end of the article.

1. Seed selection

Hyacinth outer membrane is purple or white, etc., flower friends can judge the future color according to the skin color, but for some hybrid varieties, it is not easy to judge the film color, you should consult the florist. The seed stem with large bulb, strong appearance and well-preserved outer coat should be selected when selecting seeds.

2. Rooting treatment

The spherical seed bought should now be invaded and sterilized in Dorinella, and the outer membrane skin can be peeled off properly. Then put in the prepared culture bottle (pictured), and the height of the water surface just touches the root. When you are ready, shade the bottle, then put it in a cool and dry place for about 20 days and the root will grow out. At this point, you can remove the shade and transplant it into the sun.

3. Temperature and sunshine

Hyacinth habits like the sun, cold-resistant, can be placed on the windowsill to receive light for about 5 hours every day. Plants have the characteristics of growing towards light, so be careful not to receive light in the same direction. The optimum temperature for hyacinth germination is 5-10 degrees, the optimum temperature for leaf growth is 5-15 degrees, and the suitable flowering period is 15-20.

4. Water and fertilizer problems

Mineral water is the best solution for water culture. If tap water is used, it should be dried for 3 days. It is recommended to change the culture medium every 10 days after rooting, or the time can be determined according to the watching water quality. Try not to pull out the root completely when changing water, so as not to damage the root of hyacinth when you put it in. Some friends suggest changing water with hoses, which is a good way. To prevent algae from growing in water sources, put some charcoal particles in the bottle. If there is a special hyacinth hydroponic solution, it is best, but if not, it is no problem to use clean water.

5. Flower stem treatment

In principle, hyacinth bulbs that have flowered can continue to bloom in the second year. But the second planting will be because the bulb nutrients are too little, the flowering is very small, so for the majority of flower friends, it is recommended that flowering bulbs should not be replanted.

In addition, I would like to introduce some issues related to potted planting of hyacinth in soil culture.

When will it be planted?

From October to December, the temperature was below 10 ℃ and began to sow.

2. Where is the seed?

Good drainage, loose soil, pH 6-7. Choose the basin with holes at the bottom. Generally, 3 balls can be planted in 16 pots. Or plant it directly in a sunny or semi-shaded place in the courtyard.

3. How to plant it?

The buds are planted head up, and the bulbs are covered with soil 2-5cm. After planting, they are placed in a cool place, which is conducive to the growth of roots. After the leaves unfold, move to a sunny or semi-shaded place for normal management. The distance between planting balls in the courtyard was 10cm, and the soil was covered with 5-10cm.

4. How to take care of it?

After the seed is watered thoroughly, it will be dry watered later. After the leaves grow out of the soil, the special fertilizer for bulbs can be used appropriately.

5. What to do after flowering?

After the flowers withered, cut off the flower stems, apply special fertilizer, and manage as usual. After the leaves withered, the balls were raised, cleaned and large bulbs were selected, stored in a dry, cool and ventilated place, and replanted in September-December.
