Lilium is a perennial herb with flowers for ornamental and underground bulbs for edible. Its edible and medicinal value was discovered in the 4th century AD. Lilies are named "lilies" because of their overlapping scales, and lilies symbolize a hundred years of love, and lilies are elegant and fragrant, so they are a kind of flowers that people like to raise indoors.

There is no doubt about the ornamental value of Lily, and its nutritional value, medicinal value and edible value are also very popular, and it is known as "the respect of ten thousand vegetables". On festive festivals, there is a custom of giving lilies to each other, or making lilies into cakes to entertain guests.

The planting method of lily bulb is very simple (ordinary flower friends' family planting), and there are not too many complex processes, such as disinfection and so on. According to the author's experience, this paper talks about the planting method of lily bulb for flower friends' reference.

1. Get to know the lily bulbs

The lily bulb in the picture below, imported from the Netherlands, probably arrived in March, and its appearance is still good. Sometimes some flower friends will buy all kinds of defective lily balls in a certain treasure, so they can only make do with it.

2. How big and deep pots should be prepared for planting lily bulbs

Generally speaking, the requirements of lily pots are not so strict, the more popular 2-gallon pots are fine, of course, other pots are fine, it is best not to be too small and too shallow, because lilies should be planted deeply, and if the plants are too shallow, the effect may be a little worse. However, I have also covered soil about 2cm and tried to grow OK, so flower friends do not need to care too much about the difference. If you want to give a planting depth, it is recommended to cover about 5 cm of soil.

3. Several lily balls can be planted in a pot.

One or three is fine, and the impact of the squeeze is not big. Similarly, there is no standard, it all depends on the individual's attitude, !

4. Soil selection

I have used two kinds of soil to grow lilies, one is sandy soil, and the other is nutritious soil. I have come to the conclusion that the lily in sandy soil is relatively thin and small, but it can basically meet the needs of flowering, so I think lilies do not have high requirements for soil. Flower friends with conditions can be given preferential treatment, and those without conditions do not have to worry about it.

5. Planting process

1) rooting at the bottom of the pruned bulb

Trim the bad roots under the bulb and cut off the rotten or bad roots! Pay attention to only the roots that are not well trimmed!

2) seed ball disinfection

Rinse the trimmed bulbs with water and soak them in 80-1000 times carbendazim solution for half an hour.

3) bottom of flowerpot

In order to ensure water permeability, put a layer of broken plastic foam at the bottom of the flowerpot, which everyone should have at home. You can use broken tiles or bark. The flowerpot should be as large as possible, with a depth of more than 15 centimeters.

4) loading soil

Load the soil into a flowerpot, about 10 centimeters. The soil chooses soft and acidic soil because it is convenient. I use the basic soil for raising seedlings.

5) put in the seed ball

If possible, add 5-10g compound fertilizer to the subsoil and mix well. I didn't add fertilizer. Put the sterilized seed ball into the flowerpot, notice that the bottom of the three seed balls are opposite each other, tilting about 60 degrees. If you put it sideways, when the lily grows taller, the leaves will not be huddled together, with a larger interval and more space. Just like three people, stretching outward is more comfortable than stretching inward.

6) cover soil

Add the soil to the basin and cover the seed ball. In order to let the seed ball sprout smoothly, the bud tip is exposed to the soil surface of about 0.5 cm. Remember not to fill the soil to the edge of the pot. as the plant grows higher, we need to add soil later to ensure that the lily grows more stems and roots, which is very important in the process of potted lilies.

7) watering

After planting, pour water thoroughly. Put it in a cool place to promote growth and roots.

6. Daily maintenance

Lily actually looks gorgeous, but it belongs to novice flowers. After planting, there is basically no need to control it. When the soil is dry and watered, it will be OK! Of course, here to remind flower friends, do not think about watering every day, would rather dry than wet ah! And don't mess with it every day, find a place with plenty of light, don't fiddle with it, OK if you lack of water!

7. Post-anthesis management

After the lilies (you can also cut the flowers), just continue to maintain normally. In winter, the pole will naturally wither, and the ball does not have to be dug out. In the basin, it will sprout itself in the spring of the next year, and water can be given occasionally in winter. The picture below is one of the lilies raised last year, which was tested in nutritious soil.
