Evening primrose is a kind of flower plant with cold tolerance, drought tolerance and barren tolerance, which not only has high economic value and edible value, but also has high ornamental value. Many flower friends like to plant it as a potted plant.
Many potted friends plant evening primrose as a potted plant, of course, its maintenance and management is relatively simple, it is very beautiful to put it in the courtyard, giving people a different kind of scenery. So how can evening primrose be planted through seeds? Today, the editor is going to talk about the planting method of evening primrose seeds.
1. Sowing seeds
Evening primrose can be sown in spring, summer and autumn, mostly in spring, but sometimes it needs to be sown at the right time according to the regional environment. When sowing, sow the seeds in the moist sandy soil, and then keep the soil moist, and it will take more than a week to sprout.
2. Transplant
When the evening primrose seedlings grow to a certain extent, they can be transplanted into the pot. Usually, when the plant grows six true leaves, it can be transplanted into the pot; when the young plant grows to about 30 cm, it needs to cover some soil to the rhizome, which is more conducive to the stable growth of the plant; after planting in the pot, you can apply a dilute liquid fertilizer, mainly organic fertilizer and urea.
3. Pick the heart
Because the main root of evening primrose is relatively strong and developed, it can be treated by coring after it has been planted in the pot and survived stably. By picking the heart, the plant can sprout more branches, bloom more flowers, and the plant shape will grow more luxuriantly.
4. Water and fertilizer
The fertilization of evening primrose can be determined according to plant growth, usually from the growing period, applying appropriate amount of organic fertilizer or thin liquid inorganic liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks, in addition, watering is needed to keep the basin soil moist, but watering should not be too much to avoid stagnant water in the basin.
5. Pruning
In order to prevent the plant from consuming too much nutrients and promote the plant to sprout more flowering branches and bloom more gorgeous flowers, it is usually necessary to cut off the residual flowers in time after the flower fade, which is expected to make it blossom again and prolong the flowering period. This is more necessary for potted plants.
