Pea is a common vegetable, deeply loved by people, in the basic rural households will plant some, but vegetables will suffer from diseases and insect pests when growing. So what are the common diseases and insect pests when peas are planted? Let's get to know it.

1. Root rot

The disease can occur from the young plant to the adult plant, and the disease mainly occurs at the flowering stage, which mainly harms the root and stem base of the plant. The leaves of the diseased plant first begin to yellowing and gradually develop to the middle and upper level, resulting in the yellowing and wilting of the whole plant. The root system will also turn dark brown or soil red, and the root nodules and root hairs will be significantly reduced. If the plant is light, the plant will become dwarfed, and if it is heavy, the root system will rot and die. The disease is mostly spread by the pathogen through soil, disease residue and seeds, and invaded by seeds and roots. The disease is generally more serious in dry years.

Prevention and control methods: it can be prevented by seed or soil dressing, and root irrigation with carbendazim and chlorothalonil when the disease occurs.

2. Brown spot

The main harm to leaves, stems and pods, leaves infected with lavender spots, in the high temperature and humidity environment, the disease spots will spread rapidly, covering the whole leaves, the diseased leaves will turn yellow and die, and some show brown irregular ring spots. It is mainly because the pathogen overwinters on the seeds, spreads by wind and rain, sows too early or suffers from low temperature injury, or the disease also occurs when the soil is heavy and sticky, with high humidity, partial application of nitrogen fertilizer and prosperous growth.

Control methods: 2-3 rotation with non-legume vegetables, at the same time, seed disinfection, seed soaking to accelerate germination yield, and proper close planting during sowing. At the initial stage of the disease, carbendazim, methyl thiophanate and chlorothalonil can be sprayed once a week for 2-3 times.

3. Powdery mildew

In the early stage of the disease, the leaves appeared small yellowish spots, gradually expanded into irregular pink spots, and in severe cases, both sides of the leaves were covered with a layer of white powder, and finally turned yellow and withered, and the pink spots turned gray in the later stage, and cut out a lot of small black umbrella particles.

Prevention and treatment methods: at the initial stage of the disease, spraying trimethoprim and carbendazim, once every 10-20 days, 2-3 times continuously.

4. Leaf miner

Commonly known as arch leaf worm, leaf entrapment worm, leaf maggot, etc., is a polyphagous pest, can host more than a hundred of the most, in vegetables mainly harm celery, cabbage, radish and so on.

Control methods: in vegetable harvest, it is necessary to clean up the fallen leaves and weeds of residual plants in the field in time, burn them or bury them deeply, and reduce insect pests, which can be controlled by 31% avermectamine and 5% avermectin EC.
