Wheat yellowing is a phenomenon during the growth of wheat, which shows an aggravating trend in recent years, which brings great economic losses to farmers, so what is the cause of wheat yellowing? How to prevent and cure it? Let's get to know it.

I. etiolation reasons

1. Lack of soil fertility

When the soil fertility is insufficient, the plants gradually yellowed due to lack of water and nutrients, such as few secondary roots, few tillers, dark green leaves, yellow leaf tips, and the whole land, but there is no such symptom in the adjacent land.

2. The planting mode is not standard.

When sowing, the quality of soil preparation is poor, especially when the straw is returned to the field too shallow, the suppression is not true or the sowing is too deep, the root system will be underdeveloped, the tiller node will be exposed, and the yellowing phenomenon will be serious in the later stage.

3. Soil consolidation

When the soil environment deteriorates, such as acidification, hardening and so on, the root system of wheat is difficult to develop. If the cold resistance of winter wheat is weak, the root nutrient transport can not keep up after turning green, and the leaves will turn yellow.

4. Iron deficiency

The leaf veins of wheat will lose green and yellowing when the seedlings are deficient in iron, and the whole leaves will be yellowish-white gradually.

5. Mosaic virus disease

Also known as spindle streak mosaic disease, is an occasional disease in individual years, the disease is infected at the seedling stage, the symptoms are not obvious at low temperatures in autumn and winter, and the symptoms are obvious when turning green in the coming year. After infection, the yield is generally reduced by about 10% and 30%, and in severe cases, the yield is reduced by more than 50%, or even no harvest.

II. Prevention and control methods

Persist in giving priority to prevention, comprehensive treatment, find out the causes according to the symptoms, and take effective measures to prevent and cure.

1. Yellowing caused by lack of fertility

Urea should be applied 5-10 per mu in the green period, and 12-15 kg of urea per mu in the jointing stage, or 10 kg of diammonium phosphate in the ditch.

2. Yellowing caused by non-standard planting patterns.

Winter irrigation should be carried out in time to promote the growth and development of wheat roots, improve the quality of tillers, achieve the goal of rooting and strengthening roots, and improve the ability of roots to transport nutrients and the frequency of metabolism.

3. Yellowing caused by soil consolidation

After the temperature rises steadily, foliar fertilizer is sprayed during the return to green period, and the new roots are watered and fertilized for a few times, and at the same time, the middle ploughing is broken to promote the growth of wheat in the later stage and reduce the loss to the minimum.

4. Yellowing caused by iron deficiency

0.1% ferrous sulfate solution can be sprayed for 2-3 times, which can supplement iron in time, and the effect is better.

5. Prevention and treatment of mosaic virus disease

Select the varieties with strong disease resistance, kill the stubble in time after the previous harvest, apply fully mature farm manure, use microorganisms to inhibit the growth of bacteria, sow late in time and stagger the best infection time according to the air temperature of the year. The use of agricultural tools is to clean up and disinfect. After sowing with carbendazim, carbendazim and insecticide, you can use carbendazim and a small amount of urea to irrigate the root 2-3 times, each time at an interval of 7 days.
