The market demand of grape is also increasing in recent years, so its planting area is also expanding. Now more and more people grow grapes, but many novices do not understand their planting techniques. The management of grapes is very important and has a direct impact on yield, especially pruning. Reasonable pruning can improve permeability, so the editor today brings you the key points of grape pruning techniques. Let's take a look!

1. Pruning time

The pruning time of grapes is divided into two stages, usually in autumn, winter and summer. When pruning, the pruning time should be adjusted reasonably according to the planting area. If you plant in the north, because the frost time comes earlier, you have to start pruning before the soil is frozen. In the south, we have to wait until all the leaves of the grapes have fallen off until the new buds are sprouted. Pruning time should not be too late, if it is too late, it is easy to appear late spring cold phenomenon in spring. Cause the grape to bleed and consume too much nutrition. Pruning in summer is mainly based on wiping buds and thinning branches.

2. Trunk pruning

When planting in the south, the trunk of different specifications should be cultivated according to the specific requirements after all the grape seedlings were planted in the same year. Several trunks of different lengths should be cultivated in the first year of planting, and then two main vines should be cultivated at the top of the trunk. Do the heart-picking work when growing to about 1 meter, and cut short at 90 centimeters of the main vine after entering the winter. If it is in the north, then we have to trim the trunk to an angle of about 20 degrees from the ground. Then do a good job of wiping buds after germination, mainly with buds within 50 centimeters from the trunk.

3. Winter shears

When cutting in winter, the main vine with strong growth should be cut short at a distance of about 60-70 cm. The main vine with weak growth should be adjusted according to the actual situation. And then continue to cultivate into the main vine for pruning. If the number of main vines is not enough in the current year, then you can leave 3 buds or so at the base of the annual main vines. Increase the number of main vines in the second year, and then from the second year, choose a strong main vine as an extended branch for culture. After entering the summer, the coring work will be carried out on the position of about 0.7 meters of extended branches on the main vine.

4. Pruning of growing strong trees

For strong vines, the first thing to do is to deal with lateral vines, which should be cut short with about 5 buds. If the growth is weak, then the number of retained buds can be appropriately reduced to 3, laying a good foundation for the branch group of culture results. Then the new main vine begins to grow at the base in the second year, and the lateral vine is left in the third year. Then this method is used to cultivate vines and fruiting mother branches every year. Ensure the overall uniformity of the shelf surface. When there are about 3 branch groups, the shaping and pruning work is basically completed. In the future, according to the length of the fruiting mother branch, the branch will be cut and lengthened to maintain the tree shape.

The above is a brief introduction to the main points of grape pruning techniques. The pruning of grapes is very important, we should aim at improving permeability, promote flowering and fruiting, and increase yield. That's all for today's introduction.
