Litchi is a kind of tree plant of the disease-free family, which has a very wide distribution in the south of China. Litchi is very high in sugar and delicious, so it is welcomed by many people. The main planting area is concentrated in Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces. When planting litchi, raising seedlings is very important. The common breeding methods of litchi are mainly high-pressure propagation, the following editor brings you the high-pressure propagation technology of litchi, let's have a look!

1. Breeding time

The high-pressure propagation of litchi does not require much time, and it can usually be carried out at any time of the year. However, if you want to improve the rooting rate of branches, it is best to do so around March. And we have to choose the breeding time according to the breed. For example, if it is an early-maturing variety, then it should be about a month earlier, while the medium-ripe product is best carried out before and after Ching Ming Festival. Because this is the peak growth period of litchi trees, the sap flow in the trees is fast, and the phloem peeling is relatively simple. Moreover, the wound healing speed after ring peeling is also fast, and the rooting rate and survival rate are also relatively high.

2. Shoot selection

It is very important to select high-pressure shoots of litchi. We should select shoots on the fruiting trees with strong, high quality varieties and high yield. Then the sturdy and pest-free branches of about 3 years old were selected as high-pressure branches on the mother plant. If the diameter is kept at about two centimeters, such branches can effectively improve the rooting rate. And the growth ability of litchi tree is strong, and the fruit rate is also very high. If the shoot is not selected properly, not only the survival rate is insufficient, but also the growth ability of the survived seedlings is also very poor.

3. Peel the branches around

After selecting the branches, we need to start the girdling work. First of all, peel 1-2 knives on the selected shoot, and the depth of the ring peeling should be to the xylem of the branch tip. The distance between the two knives should not be too close, keep it around 3cm. Then peel off the bark in the middle and pay attention to removing the forming part on the clean xylem. After girdling, let the wound dry for about 7 days, promoting the death of the cells in the forming part. When a tumor is found in the ring peeling, apply a layer of rooting agent to the wound, then wrap it with a layer of wet mud and fasten it with a plastic bag to promote germination.

4. Matrix production

The preparation of the matrix after the shoot rooting is very important, which determines its survival rate. The production of the matrix is mainly based on garden soil and appropriate amount of farm manure, and then irrigate the right amount of water to keep its water content at about 60%. When wrapping the branches, it is necessary to tie up the wet mud tightly at the top of the ring. Prevent wet mud from loosening and affect the nutrient absorption of branches. After about two months, the white root appeared in the upper part of the incision. At this time, keep the 40cm or so, cut off the high-pressure seedlings and plant them in time.

The above is a brief introduction of litchi high pressure propagation technology. There are many propagation methods of litchi, including sowing, grafting and so on. High-pressure propagation is relatively simple to operate, and the survival rate is relatively high, so it is mainly high-pressure propagation. That's all for today's introduction.
