Recently, the Taiwan non-basic Reform Alliance has received a lot of messages saying that they want to participate in the draft notice against the increase in pesticide residues in the spring of each year, but they do not know how to write down their anger and anxiety! Therefore, a simplified version of the opinion statement letter is specially written for public use, which can be completed in a few simple steps.

Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare email: sy77@fda.gov.tw

Public policy network participation platform ─ public speaking: https://join.gov.tw/ … /... / 546eab8c-b0e2-4dbb-855b-f76222af7932 (as a visitor rumor, you need to fill in simple information first)

Oppose the relaxation of the standard of residual allowance for gabion plugs.

I firmly oppose the addition of the standard for carapace residues in barley, millet, Duran wheat, rapeseed, sorghum, rye, rye, Li, oats and buckwheat from non-detectable to 10ppm. The reasons are as follows:

First, it is too hasty to amend the law only according to the written documents submitted by the applicant Monsanto.

According to the information released by the Food and Drug Administration, this amendment stems from the application for import allowance filed by Hong Kong Merchant Monsanto far East Co., Ltd., and the basis for the amendment is to refer to the written information submitted by the company. However, just last year, the California Superior Court found that Monsanto concealed the experimental data on the carcinogenic risk of Gypsy and ordered it to pay high compensation to the victims.

The FDA decided to relax the standards only on the basis of the written documents submitted by Monsanto, which was too hasty.

Second, there is no careful assessment of the risk of cancer caused by gablux.

By referring to the assessment results of the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States and the European Food Safety Agency, the Food and Drug Administration concluded that Carbonate was not suspected of causing cancer. However, as early as 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) under the World Health Organization listed carnet as a class 2A substance that may be at risk of causing cancer to the human body. at the same time, in recent years, academic studies have pointed out that it has genotoxicity, even if the concentration is very low, long-term exposure to it will also affect human health.

The Fehd should take into account the information of all parties concerned and reassess carefully the carcinogenic risk of caramel.

Third, we should not open the door for imported miscellaneous grains with residual Jiapan plugs.

Although Taiwan farmers have planted more items of barley, sorghum, millet and buckwheat this time, there is no need or requirement to increase the residual tolerance of caramel.

The beneficiaries of this revision are obviously the imported miscellaneous grains of the residual herbicide Jiaposai.

According to the above three points, we strongly urge the Food and Drug Administration to revoke the amendment of the regulations and protect the food safety of the whole people.
