In order to improve the treatment of grapes in grape production, it is necessary to do a good job of heart-picking, which is also known as sharpening, which is an important part of grape management technology, which can reduce the normal nutrient consumption of new shoots, concentrate nutrients, increase fruit-setting rate and increase yield. So how can the grapes pick the hearts? Let's get to know it.

1. In that year, young trees were planted to pick the heart.

For the weak plants planted in the same year, it is generally carried out when the seedlings grow to 30-40 cm, the new shoots are re-coring, and the secondary shoots of 2-3 nodes on the base are erased, leaving only one secondary shoot and 4-5 leaves. After coring, it is necessary to pick the heart for many times according to the growth of accessory shoots and lay eggs to promote the growth of stems and leaves. In that year, strong young trees are generally planted when the seedling height is 1 meter, erasing the secondary shoots under 30 cm at the base, leaving 1-2 leaves on the auxiliary shoots for repeated coring, and when the top secondary shoots grow to 1.5 meters for the second time, so that after many times of coring, the tip growth is suppressed and the secondary shoots and stems on both sides are continuously thickened.

2. Pick the heart of the fruit branch

The fruiting shoots are generally carried out 3-5 days before the full flowering stage, and should not exceed the early flowering stage at the latest. When the grape blossoms, the buds gradually change from green to dark green. At this time, the buds are fully separated on the inflorescence and are not crowded with each other, which is the best time to pick the heart. For the varieties with serious flower and fruit drop, the heart should be picked in advance about 10-12 days before flowering, and 6-8 pieces should be left on the branches above the ear. In this way, it can accelerate and mature, enter the peak period of organic nutrition as soon as possible, control the nutrient consumption at the top of branches and vines, and the nutrients of chicken breeds in inflorescence, laying the foundation for fruit expansion in the later stage.

3. Pick the heart from the nutritious branch

The coring of vegetative branches is different from that of fruiting branches, which is generally carried out at 8-10 leaves, and if the plant shelf is large, it can be delayed to 16-18 leaves, which can increase the leaf area, improve the shading effect, and avoid sunburn and disease of fruits. It can also be combined with ring peeling and other methods to weaken the tree potential, avoid the ineffective consumption of plant nutrition, and make the branches mature as soon as possible. If the vegetative branch grows too vigorously, the coring method of the fruiting branch can also be used to carry out the first coring at 6-8 leaves and again when the top accessory shoot grows 4-6 leaves.

4. Lengthen the branch and pick the heart

Lengthening branches should be carried out according to the situation of winter shearing, usually in 18-24 leaves, in order to prolong the branches to fully mature, after coring, the auxiliary shoots of summer buds should be retained, and 6-8 leaves can be left. For some weak extended branches, they should first go to the lower part of the more forced new shoots instead of extended branches, and pick out the heart at the 10th leaf to promote the thickening of the branches; while the middle of the extended branches should be completed by the end of September to prolong the maturity of the shoots; if the extended branches are exuberant, they should be picked out in advance to avoid scattered nutrition and avoid overgrowth.
