Myrtle is also known as mountain peach, black belly, peach aunt, Renzi tree and so on. Many people may not be familiar with it, but it is indeed a kind of edible berry. At the same time, Myrtle also has a certain medicinal value, which can be used to activate blood circulation, stop diarrhea, tonify deficiency, stop bleeding and so on. But what I want to share with you today is the planting method of myrtle. Do you know how myrtle should be planted? What problems do you need to pay attention to when planting? Let's take a look at it next.

1. Land selection and preparation

Myrtle is generally planted in Taiwan, Fujian, Guangxi, Guizhou and other places that love China, that is to say, it likes a warm climate. When we plant myrtle, we will choose the sunny slope, the soil had better be acidic, good air permeability, drainage, good water retention, humus-rich yellow loam or red loam. Deep ploughing the land, clean up the sundries of growing fertilizer in the soil, and carry out disinfection; then add sufficient farm manure and a small amount of ternary compound fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to the soil, mix evenly, smash the clods and make a bed with a width of 1.5 meters and a height of 25 centimeters; finally, the surface of the border will be leveled and you can wait for planting.

2. Methods of reproduction

There are two main methods of myrtle reproduction, which are seed propagation and cutting propagation. For seed reproduction, we need to choose seeds with full grains, no defects, no diseases and insect pests, and excellent varieties. Before sowing, you need to soak the seeds in hot water of about 60 degrees for 15 minutes, then put the seeds into the medicament for disinfection and sterilization, and finally sow the seeds according to the row spacing of 50 centimeters and the plant spacing of 30 centimeters. Cutting propagation is generally carried out in the spring every year, using the current year's healthy myrtle branches as cuttings for cutting propagation. We need to cut the cuttings into small segments of about 15 centimeters, then soak them in rooting solution for 15 minutes, then remove them, and then cut them.

3. Cultivation and management

The main purpose of planting myrtle is to adjust the humidity, temperature and fertility of the field. Myrtle likes to be wet, so the humidity in the air of the planting land should be at least 70%, but not more than 85% at the highest. High humidity in the field will lead to root rot, while too low humidity will lead to yellowing and shedding of leaves. Secondly, Myrtle likes to be warm, so the temperature of the planting ground should not be lower than 10 degrees, otherwise it will stop growing. When the temperature is too low, it is very easy to freeze. Finally, its growth needs light, but the light intensity should not be too large, so it needs to be partially shaded. Finally, it is necessary to do a good job of topdressing, promote the growth of myrtle and increase the yield of myrtle. Generally speaking, it is mainly organic fertilizer, which can be used with an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer.

4. Points for attention

When planting myrtle, we also have a lot to pay attention to. For example, when the weather is colder, we need to build a greenhouse to keep warm; when using cuttings to propagate, we need to cut the cut evenly; if there is no natural shade, we need to build a shade shed; when topdressing, we should do a good job of watering, at the same time, we should be careful not to spread fertilizer on the plants, and it is best to fertilize a little further away from the roots to avoid causing fertilizer damage.
