In the process of jasmine culture, there are often yellow leaves, black leaves, luxuriant leaves do not blossom or flowers are rare, how to deal with it? Below, Hua Cao Le shares with you the ways to deal with these problems.
The leaves of jasmine are yellow and black. What should we do with them?
1. Watering problem
Jasmine likes the soil to be wet, but it is waterlogged. If the potted soil is too wet for a long time, it will cause rotting roots, yellowing leaves and even plant death due to hypoxia. If its leaves are black, it's probably because you've watered it too much. If there is too much water, there will be less air, which will make the root stay in a wet environment for a long time, which will make it lack of oxygen and make its leaves black. So watering must be moderate, not too much.
Jasmine likes slightly acidic soil, such as using water with more salt or tap water for a long time, it is easy to make its plants grow poorly and its branches and leaves turn yellow.
2. the problem of diseases and insect pests
Jasmine flowers are prone to leaf spot disease and red spiders. At first, there are a lot of small brown spots on the leaves, and then they slowly expand into round or irregular shapes, and the infected leaves become thin, transparent, and slowly grow black granular materials. so the leaves turn black.
Prevention and control methods: first of all, we can cut off its diseased leaves in time, and destroy them, and then remember to apply less nitrogen fertilizer, more phosphate fertilizer, and finally spray medicine green fruit, which can play a good role in prevention and control.
3. Fertilization
If fertilizing is too thick, or applying rotten organic fertilizer, it will cause "root burning", withering and yellowing of branches and leaves, and fear that flowers are not nutritious enough, so they will desperately apply fertilizer, resulting in overnutrition and burning the plants. it will also make the leaves black. So fertilizer must be controlled.
There is no change of pot soil and fertilization for a long time, resulting in a shortage of nutrients and yellowing of jasmine leaves. In this case, as long as the plants are changed into pots, replaced with fertile and loose sandy loam, and liquid fertilizer is applied regularly, jasmine will soon grow normally.
4. in the process of maintenance, there will also be situations such as luxuriant leaves without blooming or sparse flowers. The treatment methods can be referred to as follows:
1) improper watering causes rotten roots or leaves of jasmine to turn yellow.
Solution: first of all, cut off the rotten roots, move the flowerpot to a shady and wet place, stop fertilizing and strictly control watering. At the same time, the basin soil should be loosened, the ventilation condition should be improved, and the appropriate amount of water should be watered after the new roots grow.
2) the leaves gradually yellowed and wilted due to the water quality and the alkalinity of the basin soil.
Solution: apply dilute alum fertilizer and water to adjust during the growing period. Generally, the old leaves of potted jasmine can turn green gradually after half a month.
3), yellow leaves caused by long-term lack of fertilizer or long-term failure to change pots.
Solution: change the pot of potted jasmine in time, replace the fertile and loose new soil, and apply liquid fertilizer regularly.
4) for jasmine which has luxuriant branches and leaves but does not bloom or rarely blossoms.
Solution: the reason why potted jasmine does not blossom is basically caused by lack of sunlight. Lack of flowering or low flowering is generally caused by excessive shade or excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer. At this time, the flowerpot should be placed in a sunny place, and water and fertilizer should be properly controlled and phosphate fertilizer should be applied appropriately.
