Black jujube, also known as wild persimmon, clove jujube, there is a kind of black jujube is seedless, and there is a variety of artificial grafting is seedless. The main varieties are big nuclear black jujube, milk jujube and grape black jujube. Black jujube has the functions of tonifying qi, tonifying spleen and nourishing stomach, and has high medicinal and edible value. Now black jujube is mainly planted in Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi and other places in China, so today we will follow them to learn the planting techniques of black jujube.

1. Garden site preparation

Black jujube has the characteristics of light, fertilizer, shade tolerance, salt and alkali tolerance, cold resistance, drought resistance, moisture resistance and strong adaptability, that is to say, the resistance of black jujube is very strong. Generally, we will choose to grow black dates in areas that are half-overcast and half-yang, fertile soil, moderate pH, abundant water, and no pollution. If it is wasteland, land preparation generally requires full reclamation, but if there are crops in the previous crop, hole reclamation can be considered. Soil preparation should be combined with fertilization, and base fertilizer should be fully applied, which can not only improve the soil structure of the planting land.

2. Seed treatment

Black jujube in the traditional planting process is the use of seed reproduction, but now large-scale planting, it is generally the use of grafting propagation. When using seeds to propagate, we need to deal with the seeds, first of all, clean up the residual pulp or impurities on the seeds, then choose full, strong seeds, and then mix them well in the wet sand. finally, it is stored in wet sand.

3. Sowing method

Black jujube is usually planted in spring every year, of course, it can also be planted from November to December every winter. Sowing is not usually carried out by direct seeding. Spread the seeds evenly in the field, then cover the seeds with soil and water them again. If the temperature is low, you also need to cover you with a layer of straw or film to keep warm and wet. Of course, hole sowing can also be used, and hole sowing needs to be carried out according to the density needed for black jujube planting.

4. Seedling management

Before the emergence of black jujube, we should maintain a certain humidity in the field. Before emergence, the humidity in the field should be kept at about 50%, and the humidity should not be too high, otherwise it is easy to cause rotten seeds and affect the emergence rate of black jujube. But if it is sowing in winter, we need to water the soil thoroughly, cover straw and film after sowing, and then wait for seedlings to emerge. After emergence, we have to wait at least seven days before watering, to adapt to the environment as soon as possible, and appropriate topdressing to promote the growth of seedlings.

5. Field management

When the black jujube seedlings grow up to about 20 centimeters, we can move the seedlings and plant them. The planting density should be controlled at a row spacing of two meters and a plant spacing of about 1.5 meters. After planting, when the seedlings grow to about 50 centimeters, the seedlings should be pruned properly. in short, during the period of the young trees, they should be pruned at least six times a year until the finished tree shape is formed. After the black jujube blossoms and bears fruit, it needs reasonable watering and fertilization according to its different growth period, and pruning branches and leaves and clearing the garden every spring and after fruit harvest.

The above is the planting technology of black jujube that the editor would like to introduce to you today. I hope I can help you. If you want to know more about planting techniques, remember to follow us.
