Singapore representative in Taiwan calls on Hsinchu Mayor Lin Zhijian, looking forward to exchange of new industries

Wong Wai-kuen, representative of the Singapore Business Office in Taipei, called on Lin Zhijian, mayor of Hsinchu, yesterday (16). The two sides had a heated exchange on investment, innovation and tourism. Mayor Lin Zhijian pointed out that he highly hoped to visit Singapore this year and next year to visit the successful experience of LaunchPad, the National Library and the zoo, so as to learn lessons for the municipal government. He also said that he would focus on the huge business opportunities for Singaporean visitors to Taiwan. It is hoped that Hsinchu City can set up a sightseeing exhibition in Singapore and "promote Hsinchu City tourism to Singapore". Representative Huang Weiquan also said that ASEAN integration is imminent, and it is hoped that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the future so that Singapore can become a platform for Hsinchu City goods to enter the ASEAN market.

With regard to the visit to the city government by Huang Weiquan, representative of Singapore's business office in Taipei, and deputy representative Qiu Junyu and director Lin Shihui, Mayor Lin Zhijian said that although Singapore has a small area and small population, it plays an important role in various world organizations. He highly hopes that he can visit this year and next year. In addition to Singapore's famous National Library and Zoo, it can be used as a reference for Hsinchu Zoo and master plan. The "LaunchPad" new park has also become an important entrepreneurial settlement with the efforts of the Singaporean government and the private sector. More than 100 start-up and venture capital companies have settled in, and many of them from Taiwan are looking forward to visiting and understanding how the Singapore government supports new ventures and making full preparations for the preparation of the bamboo X base.

Mayor Lin Zhijian also introduced to Representative Huang Weiquan that Hsinchu City will hold Taiwan Design Exhibition and Taiwan Lantern Carnival in 2021 and 2021 respectively, inviting Singaporeans and designers to participate.
