The Formosa Plastics six Light Mailiao Industrial Park exploded a few days ago, and the Yunlin County government imposed a fine of 5 million yuan and ordered a suspension of work in accordance with the air pollution law. Sudden deaths have been reported one after another in the clam ponds and lice fish ponds around Liuqiang. Some fishermen have pointed out that there are foam, oil stains, and dust floating on the ponds, and it is suspected that the death of clams is related to the explosion of Liuqing. However, at present, it is the season alternating period, and Meretrix Meretrix is already weak and prone to death, so the sudden death of Meretrix is related to the explosion of Liuqing. Before the results of the investigation are released, there is no final conclusion.

Changhua Ring League: farmers found oil dirt and dust floating on the pond.

Shi Yueying, director-general of the Changhua County Environmental Protection Union, said that the vehicles two kilometers away from Liuqing were still shaking on the day of the explosion, but actually they also smelled the stench in the air, and the culture ponds were covered with foam and oil stains. Two days after the six light explosion, we saw the sudden death of the clam, so we urgently sampled the clam on the spot to further investigate the pollution. "when the fishermen who breed the clams picked up the clams, they were covered with oil dirt."

However, Shi also said that because on the day of the explosion, many farmers found oil dirt and dust floating on the pond, so they immediately changed water to avoid the death of clams, so they could only collect samples of clams and could not get contaminated water quality testing. She collected samples of crops, clams and clams around Liuqing and is still under testing.

Water testing stations: disputes over public pollution should be initiated, and the relevance should be professionally recognized.

Zhou Yuhan, an assistant researcher at the Taichi Branch of the Fisheries Research Institute, points out that the Water Test Institute has sampled six ponds near Liuqing, including six ponds in Changhua County, such as urban and rural areas, while Yunlin has sampled 12 ponds, distributed in Taixi and Mailiao, mainly clam culture ponds.

The water quality tested by the water test institute, including the standards of pH value, dissolved oxygen, hydrogen sulfide and the number of floating bacteria, has no difference at present. However, Zhou Yuhan stressed that the water test station test is different from the EPA test, and the water quality test conducted by the water test station cannot detect pollution. It only aims at whether the quality of the water used for aquaculture has changed, which means that the water quality tested by the water test has not changed. It does not mean that there is no pollution. "We do not know whether there is pollution that has killed the clam."

When Zhou Yuhan went to the clam pond to sample, he did find foam and dust floating on the pond. Among the eight culture ponds sampled in Taixi, two of the clams were dead. "I have heard that 30% or 40% of the clams died nearby." However, he explained that March and April are during the seasonal alternation period, and the temperature difference is large, and bacterial diseases are prone to outbreak. There will already be clam deaths, and the six light explosions may have deepened the sudden death situation, "but the correlation must still be professionally identified."

Zhou Yuhan said that when fishermen find a large number of clams and fish dead due to the pollution pollution caused by the Liuqing explosion, they can notify the county government's Environmental Protection Bureau to initiate a public hazard pollution dispute, and the Environmental Protection Bureau will sample the pollutants to confirm whether they are directly related to follow-up claims.
