Is it poisonous?
At present, there is no record of Qilixiang poisonous in any literature and materials. So it's non-toxic.
Flowering time:
The flowering period of Qilixiang is relatively long, and it usually blossoms between April and September every year, and sometimes it blossoms in autumn and winter. It will bear fruit after it blossoms, and the fruit period is between September and December.
Flowering form:
The flowers of Qilixiang are mainly terminal or axillary, usually with less than 10 flowers, and more than 50 when there are more. Qilixiang petals are oblanceolate or long oval, when fully open there will be some annoyance, the flowers are mainly white, but with some yellowish oil spots. The flowers of Qili incense are accompanied by fragrance, which is very rich.
Planting skills:
1. Accelerating budding
Soak the seeds in warm hot water (the temperature is about the same as facial wash) for 12-24 hours until the seeds absorb water and expand. For common seeds that germinate easily, this work does not have to be done.
2. Sowing seeds
For tiny seeds that are difficult to pick up with hands or other tools, wet one end of the toothpick with water, stick the seeds one by one on the surface of the matrix, cover the matrix 1 cm thick, and then put the sowing flowerpot into the water. The depth of the water is 1-2 to 2-3 of the height of the flowerpot, allowing the water to soak up slowly (this method is called "pot immersion").
For larger seeds that can be picked up by hand or other tools, put the seeds directly into the substrate and order them at a distance of 3 × 5 cm. The substrate was covered after sowing, and the thickness of the cover was 2-3 times that of the seed. After sowing, you can use sprayers and fine-hole showers to wet the sowing matrix, and later when the pot soil is slightly dry, you should still pay attention to the watering strength so as not to wash the seeds up.
3. Management
After sowing in late autumn, early spring or winter, when you encounter a cold wave and low temperature, you can wrap the Qili incense pot with plastic film to keep warm and moisture. after the seedlings are unearthed, the film should be opened in time and before 9:30 every morning. or let the seedlings receive the sun after 3:30 in the afternoon, otherwise the seedlings will grow very weakly. After most of the seeds come out, they need to plant seedlings properly: pull out the diseased and unhealthy seedlings, so that the seedlings left behind have a certain space between each other; when most of the seedlings have three or more leaves, they can be transplanted.
4. Other
Qilixiang can also be used for cuttage, but it is generally in late spring and early autumn to use the same year's branches for tender wood cutting, or in early spring to use annual branches for old wood cuttings.
