Daffodils are one of the top ten famous flowers in China, and they also have beautiful names such as flowers in the snow, Jinzhan Yintai, Lingbo Fairy, Luoshen Xiangfei, Lilan, Yake, Jade Linglong and so on. According to Huang Tingjian's "Jade Narcissus in Secondary Rhyme" of the Song Dynasty, it can be seen that daffodils are easy to raise and can take root and sprout and flowers bloom with only a spoonful of water. So, how do daffodils sprout? What if it doesn't sprout or blossom? How can we delay or bloom ahead of time?

First, how to sprout daffodils?

1. Peeling. The first step in the budding of daffodils is to peel off the outermost layer of the bulb.

2. Cut the ball. The second step of the daffodil sprouting is to cut the ball, first wash the soil on the daffodil bulb with water, at the same time remove the old root, and then cut into 1 cm on each side of the lateral bud, breaking the slit to expose the inside bud.

3. Soak the ball. The third step of the daffodil sprouting is to soak the ball. Soak the seed ball in clean water for 1-2 days. If the mucus secreted by the seed ball appears in the water, you need to change the water.

4. Sprouting. This is the last step for the daffodils to sprout. Put the soaked bulbs in the flowerpot, cover with a layer of rice husk, etc., and move them to the sun, during which you can pour some water every day and sprout after about a week.

Second, what if the daffodils do not sprout?

1. Lower the temperature. The non-germination of daffodils may be caused by high temperature. If the temperature exceeds 25 ℃, the daffodils will stop growing and go into dormancy. This is why it is difficult for daffodils to germinate in summer, and the temperature can be cooled properly at this time.

2. Change water. The water for raising daffodils should be clean. The deterioration of the water will cause pollution to rot the roots and fail to sprout. At this point, we should consider changing the water.

What if the daffodils do not blossom?

1. Control the temperature. If the temperature is too high, it will cause the plant to grow too long, the temperature is too low, the plant grows slowly, and the daffodils do not bloom. If the temperature is too high, the temperature can be cooled slightly, keeping the temperature between 15-25 degrees; if the temperature is too low, the temperature can be increased by sunlight, lighting, electric heater, warm water and so on.

2. Change water in time. Water daffodils should keep the water clean. Not changing water for a long time will cause bacteria breeding, light ones affect plant growth, heavy ones cause rotten ball, if rotten ball occurs, the rotten ball can be cut off, and water utensils and seed ball wounds can be sterilized and sterilized.

3. Choose the time of water culture. Unreasonable water raising time will lead to dumb flowers, which can be avoided after the Qingming Festival and before Frosts Descent.

4. Wait 2-3 years. Some daffodils sprout and grow seedlings, but do not blossom, if there is no problem in maintenance, it is the reason for planting balls, poor ball planting is also one of the reasons why daffodils do not blossom for a long time, but there is no need to care. it can blossom after two to three years of maintenance.

Fourth, how to delay or advance the flowering of daffodils?

Daffodils generally bloom in winter and spring, earlier than peaches and plums and later than plums, and the specific flowering time can be artificially controlled. Normal water-raised daffodils can blossom in 45-50 days as scheduled. Adding an appropriate amount of cold water to the pot can delay the flowering of daffodils, and adding warm water can bloom ahead of time.
