Earthworm farming is a new special breeding project in recent years, but at present, there are not many people raising earthworms, because there are too many scams in the market, and many people are worried about being deceived. In fact, earthworm farming is indeed profitable, but you must have a sales channel, otherwise it is very difficult to open the market. However, today, the editor is not here to discuss whether it is a scam, but to share with you a few points for attention in earthworm breeding. Let's take a look.

1. Density

The requirement of earthworm breeding for density is relatively high, because the density of breeding is too small, then it is not worthwhile, and the density of breeding is too large, it is easy to get sick, and it is not easy to manage, so only the appropriate density can be cultured normally. Under normal circumstances, earthworms can be raised about 4 jin to 5 jin per square meter, that is, about 10,000 earthworms. In other words, no more than 10,000 at most, otherwise it is easy to cause earthworms to lose weight, decline in fecundity, high mortality and other problems.

2. Cooling and moisturizing

The management of humidity and temperature in the process of farming is very important. Earthworms are generally suitable for growing in low-temperature, high-humidity and very fertile environments. Then we need to cool down and moisturize in the process of breeding. Generally, we can cover straw or grass in the earthworm breeding base and build a shade shed in the farm to play a role in cooling and moisturizing. At the same time, we also need irregular watering to maintain the moisture of the farming soil and avoid drought.

3. Ventilation

The growth of earthworms also needs oxygen, but they mainly depend on the oxygen in the soil, so we must ensure the permeability of the soil to maintain the oxygen content in the soil. If there is a lack of oxygen in the soil, the earthworms will turn dark brown, crawl slowly and eventually die. So we also need to loosen the soil properly in the process of breeding to improve the permeability of the soil, but the loosening here is not to use a hoe, but to use tools that will not hurt earthworms.

4. Lighting

Earthworms are very sensitive to light, so we must adjust the light scientifically. The earthworms we see generally live in dark places, that is to say, the growth of earthworms does not need any light, so we need to avoid light, especially direct light, in the breeding process. If the light intensity is too high, earthworms are easy to die.

5. acidity and alkalinity

Earthworms are suitable for growing in neutral soils, which means that earthworms will have some problems in both acidic and alkaline soils. But this is generally only for strong acid and strong alkaline soil, that is to say, slightly acidic and slightly alkaline soil earthworms can also grow normally, but the reproduction ability is stronger in neutral soil. In order to increase the production of earthworms, we need to test the acidity and alkalinity of the soil when raising earthworms.

The points for attention of earthworm farming that the editor is going to introduce to you today is basically over here. Of course, in the breeding of earthworms, in addition to the above points, such as the addition of materials, the allocation of nutrient soil and other aspects are also worthy of our attention.
