Matters needing attention in red insect culture
Red worm is a good bait for fishing, it contains high protein, it is a very high-quality high-protein feed in the market, and it is often used in aquaculture, poultry breeding and some special breeding projects. With the increase of market demand for red insects, the scale of breeding red insects is gradually expanding, so what problems do we need to pay attention to? Let's follow the editor to learn about it.
1. The time of collecting red worms
Many people do not know when is the best time to collect red worms, if the time is not right, then red insects are not so easy to collect, and the quantity and quality of collection are not very good, so we have to choose the right time. In general, the two periods of late spring and early autumn are the peak season for the breeding of red insects, and the farmed red insects generally float on the water surface, and the color of the water is reddish brown, so this is the best time to collect.
2. Farmed feed
In the large-scale breeding of red insects, in order to reduce the cost of breeding, but to ensure the quality of feed, the selection of feed has become a very important issue. Under normal circumstances, we will choose rice bran, sawdust, bagasse, pigeon dung, mud and other things to feed. But before feeding, we need to ferment and wait until it is fully fermented before it can be used for breeding. Of course, you can also use yeast powder to feed properly, but the dosage must be controlled.
3. Cool down and guard against cold
In the process of breeding, we should pay attention to temperature management, otherwise it will affect the survival rate and reproduction rate of red insects. The temperature suitable for the growth of red insects is generally about 15 to 30 degrees, but the best temperature for the growth of red insects is 18 to 25 degrees, and when the temperature reaches about 28 degrees, the red insects will enter a period of vigorous reproduction, so we should adjust the temperature reasonably according to the growth stage of red insects in the process of culture. In winter, we should remember to carry out heat preservation and cold protection, so as to avoid frost damage of red insects and affect the survival rate.
4. Feeding and management
Feeding and management is an important step in the process of breeding, and the principle of a small number of times should be followed when feeding, which is very beneficial to the yield increase of earthworms. In normal feeding, feed is usually fed every five to seven days, but if it is in the red worm breeding season, it needs to be fed every three days. The amount of feed each time is generally controlled at 100 to 200 jin, with a maximum of no more than 200 jin. If the feeding amount is less than 100, the red worm will starve to death.
5. Lighting management
The growth of red insects needs enough light, if the light is not enough, then the farmed red insects will have all kinds of problems, even death. The amount of light needed for red insects to grow is 24 hours a day, that is to say, it also needs to be illuminated at night, but the light intensity at night does not need to be too strong, generally requiring only a glimmer of light. In the daytime, we need proper shading to control the light at about 10%.
The above are several problems that should be paid attention to when raising red worms. Of course, in the process of culture, we need to pay attention to the water quality, technology and environment of culture. If you are interested or have any questions, you can also leave a message below.
