Calabash must be familiar to everyone, it is not just a container. It can also be eaten, and has a very high medicinal value, in our country has a certain planting area. However, there are many cases of planting failure, most of which are due to improper environmental control. So what kind of environment do you need to grow gourds? The following small series brings you the requirements of gourd planting on environmental conditions. Let's take a look together!

1. Soil

Gourds are very strong and can grow normally on most soils. However, artificial cultivation is aimed at increasing yield and enhancing quality. If the soil quality is poor, the yield and quality of the gourd will be affected to some extent. Therefore, it is best to choose soil with sufficient fertility, deep soft and strong permeability when planting. Then control the PH value of soil at about 6.8, which can effectively enhance the growth ability of gourd, improve yield and expand planting benefits.

2. Temperature

Temperature is very important for the growth of gourds. Gourd like to grow in a warm environment, in sowing, to ensure that the temperature is about 15 degrees. The germination rate of seeds can be obviously improved. The optimum temperature should be controlled at 22-24 ℃ during the growth of gourd. If the temperature is not suitable, it will inhibit the growth of gourds. Although gourd can flower normally in low temperature environment, the pollination rate will decrease, thus reducing the fruit bearing rate. Therefore, we should pay attention to controlling the temperature when planting to ensure the growth of suitable gourds.

3. Moisture

The roots of the gourd are relatively developed, so the ability to absorb water is strong. Under normal circumstances, there are many branches and leaves, and the water evaporates quickly, so we have to keep a certain amount of water in the field. When encountering drought, water should be watered in time, especially during the flowering and fruiting period. Due to the faster growth rate, the demand for water will be greater. Therefore, it is necessary to increase water content during the flowering and fruiting period, but control the amount of water before harvesting to avoid excessive water to reduce the storage of gourds. When watering, it is not suitable for flood irrigation. After ponding, it is necessary to drain water in time to prevent ponding from retting roots and causing diseases and insect pests to affect the growth of gourd.

4. Light

Light is closely related to the growth ability and yield of gourd. Although the gourd has a certain ability to withstand low light, if it is in a low light environment for a long time, the amount of flowers and fruits will be seriously reduced, thus affecting the planting efficiency. So when we plant it, we have to make sure it's high yield and high quality. It is best to plant plots in open, well-lit areas. If you encounter a long period of rainy weather, then you should do a good job of artificial light. However, it is also necessary to prevent direct sunlight for too long, to properly shade, to provide scattered light, otherwise it is easy to cause the leaves and fruits to be burned.

The above is a brief introduction to the gourd planting environment. The planting environment of gourd is also the management work we need to do well in the planting process, so we must pay more attention to it! Today's introduction is here, this article is for reference only, I hope to help everyone oh!
