Mangosteen is rich in nutrients, originating in Southeast Asia. At present, the main place of origin is Thailand, while the scale of mangosteen cultivation in China is not large, mainly planted in Taiwan, Fujian, Guangdong, Yunnan and other areas with mild climate all year round, so the yield is not very high. So how do we manage the field when we plant mangosteen? How much do you know about mangosteen field management techniques? Let's take a look.

1. Reasonable planting

Planting mangosteen is the first step of field management. Reasonable density has influence on field operation, yield and quality in later stage. Under normal circumstances, twenty-two to thirty mangosteen can be planted per mu. The row spacing is generally six meters, and the plant spacing is about four meters per month. Of course, when we plant, we can also adjust the density reasonably according to the fertility of the soil and the terrain of the planting land.

2. Shade management

After mangosteen is planted, its demand for light is not very large at this time, so we need to adjust the light of the planting site appropriately. After mangosteen planting, in order to promote the growth of mangosteen seedlings, we need to build a shade shed. The shade degree of the shade shed should be controlled at about 100%, that is to say, the transmittance is not very good, but there needs to be weak light, so that mangosteen can grow. Wait until the late larvae slowly increase the intensity of light in the field.

3. Fertilizer and water management

When mangosteen is managed with fertilizer and water, it is basically the same in the first few years, that is to say, before mangosteen enters the fruiting period, fertilization and watering are basically the same, but with the growth of mangosteen, the concentration of fertilization needs to be continuously increased. In the early growth of mangosteen, nitrogen fertilizer was mainly used to promote the growth of mangosteen seedlings, but it was also necessary to apply fertilizer outside the roots and supplement trace fertilizer. In dry weather, timely watering is needed to keep the soil moist, while in rainy season, timely drainage is needed to avoid floods. After mangosteen enters the fruiting period, we need to divide it into growth period, flowering period, fruiting period, strong fruit period and later stage for topdressing; at the same time, we should water and drain according to the water demand at different stages.

4. Pruning and shaping

Mangosteen, like other fruit trees, needs pruning during planting. During the young period of mangosteen, it mainly promotes the growth of main branches, cultivates strong fruit branches, and pierces into the formation of complete trees. And adult fruit trees, we mainly pay attention to a pruning principle on the line, that is, to the weak to stay strong, to the disease to stay strong, to the old to cultivate new.

The field management technology about mangosteen planting that Xiaobian wants to introduce to you today has basically ended here. If you still have problems that cannot be solved in the later planting process, you can give us a message for consultation.
