The larva of a mosquito is the intermediate stage in which mosquitoes grow from eggs to pupae and are hatched by mosquito eggs in water. So how do mosquito larvae come into being? How to eliminate mosquito larvae in fish tanks and bowls of lotus water? Wigglers are hatched from eggs laid by female mosquitoes in fresh water. Depending on the species, mosquito eggs may be laid on the water surface, by the water or in three different locations, such as Anopheles and domestic mosquitoes, and Aedes albopictus. Anopheles and domestic mosquitoes hatch in about two days, while Aedes mosquitoes hatch in three to five days. The larvae of mosquitoes are called wigglers. The widow breathes through a straw. If you eat organic matter and microorganisms, the bristles of the mouth will produce water and flow to the mouth. This period lasted for about 10-14 days and became pupa after molting for 4 times.

1. The life history of mosquitoes can be divided into four stages:

Mosquitoes are completely abnormal insects.

1. Eggs:

Depending on the species, mosquito eggs may be laid on the water surface, by the water or in three different locations, such as Anopheles and domestic mosquitoes, and Aedes albopictus. Anopheles and domestic mosquitoes hatch in about two days, while Aedes mosquitoes hatch in three to five days.

2. Larvae:

The larvae of mosquitoes are called wigglers. The widow breathes through a straw. If you eat organic matter and microorganisms, the bristles of the mouth will produce water and flow to the mouth. This period lasted for about 10-14 days and became pupa after molting for 4 times.

3. Pupa:

The shape of the pupa looks like a comma from the side. Do not eat, but can swim in the water. Breathe through the first pair of breathing corners. It takes two days to fully mature.

4. Adults:

Newborn mosquitoes cannot take off (Eclosion) until their wings are hard. All male mosquitoes reversed 180 °after the eighth segment of the ventral segment within 24 hours after Eclosion to complete the mating position. The movements of mating vary from species to species, and some mosquito pillars are formed in the open field at dusk for group dancing. The mosquito column is not necessarily composed of a single male mosquito, but is often formed by several different mosquito species. At this time, when the female mosquito saw the group dance, she flew close to the mosquito column and mated with the male mosquito of the same species. Mating usually takes 10-25 seconds. The female mosquito only copulates once in its life. After mating, the fluid secreted by the male accessory gland forms a mating plug in the female mating pore, but gradually dissolves and disappears completely after about 24 hours. They mate only once in their lifetime, and the eggs laid later (more than 100 days later) can still be fertilized.

2. Methods of killing mosquito larvae

1. General methods

1) make plans early and start with water!

The larvae of mosquitoes are wriggling, the chest is wider than the head and abdomen, and the body bends and extends when swimming, so it is also known as the calcaneus.

It only takes more than half a month for wigglers to change from larvae to adult mosquitoes, so we have to start wiping out them early.

Because the wigglers have to live in the water until the Eclosion is completed, we have to prevent stagnant water at home at the end of spring.

You can also put pots with soapy water in some rooms at home. Because soapy water is alkaline, wigglers cannot grow in alkaline environments.

Of course, there is a prerequisite, and soapy water should be changed frequently.

According to Japanese scientists, putting a copper coin in the water where wigglers grow can also have the effect of eliminating wigglers. However, I think the effect should not be great, otherwise it would have been very popular. And the copper coins in the water must also be clean.

Of course, we can also put a few pots of salt water at home according to the habit of living in fresh water. Of course, this must be replaced every day.

When the toilet is not in use, also drop a few drops of 84 disinfectant.

2) try to cut off the connection between the rooms as much as possible. Families with pets had better bathe their pets every three days.

It is important to cut off the connection between rooms because it undoubtedly reduces the chances of strategic transfer of mosquitoes, so the doors and windows of the house should be closed in the evening and early in the morning.

After all, there are not so many doors designed in the house for no reason, so why are they always open? Especially the kitchen and the grocery room.

And in some rooms, you can also hang some garlic to ward off mosquitoes and prevent mosquitoes from breeding. Of course, ventilation can be done in the early morning.

Pets will attract mosquitoes if they are too dirty. There are shrimp farmers who can only change the water frequently.

It is also necessary to pay attention to the wardrobe, where mosquitoes choose to spend the winter.

3) with powder, realgar can be used!

Do not think that the function of realgar is just to ward off snakes and ward off evil spirits. In fact, realgar can also be used to kill insects.

Because realgar is arsenic trisulfide, it is toxic to some extent, so it can kill wigglers.

2. Methods of killing mosquito larvae in fish tank and bowl lotus water

There are wrigglers in the fish tank. Don't worry. Wrigglers are one of the foods of the fish, and the fish will take the initiative to help you destroy them. So let's mainly look at the solution that there are mosquito larvae in the bowl of lotus water.

1. Put in some small fish

Koi is not recommended, small tropical fish such as peacocks are recommended. Koi is a cold-water fish, and the bowl lotus is exposed to the sun every day, which is not conducive to the growth of carp (if your goal is to collect dried fish, that's fine; if you have a set of pots, of course, if the outer basin is big enough). Parents who are going to raise peacock fish should pay attention. According to my observation, peacocks usually jump into pots when they are scared, so don't move flowerpots, don't knock on flowerpots, etc., or you'll have to wait for the fish to dry, especially when you first get out of the fish.

Advantages: original ecology.

Disadvantages: if the water is shallow, you can only wait for the fish to dry.

2. Pickled oleander leaves

Soak some oleander leaves in water, it is said that the effect of chopping is better, and the effect of mashing into juice is better. Oleander juice is highly toxic, we must pay attention to it! Be sure to wear gloves (impermeable) during operation, wash hands after operation, and properly handle used utensils to avoid poisoning.

Advantages: being able to kill bugs is an advantage.

Disadvantages: oleander juice is highly toxic, to be safe, so finished lotus leaves and lotus roots can not be eaten.

3. Mosquito-repellent incense

It is said that electric mosquito-repellent incense tablets also work.

Advantages: killing mosquitoes.

Disadvantages: unecological.

4. Spraying pesticides

Spray pesticide gently into the water, be careful not to spray on the leaves. Pyrethroids pesticides will decompose after a few hours, even if three or two bad leaves do not affect the overall health of bowl lotus. There is also a kind of thing called flower protector, I don't know if it is a pesticide. It is best to wear a mask when spraying to avoid poisoning and protect your health.

Advantage: it's a little bit to be able to kill bugs.

Disadvantages: burning leaves; the dosage is not easy to grasp.

5. Syringe

Suck it out with a syringe

Advantages: original ecology, no pollution.

Disadvantages: heavy workload and tiredness.

Summary: the above methods, or the most recommended fish culture, the original ecology.
