Frog is a typical amphibian. In the past, when the ecological environment was good, the number of frogs in the countryside was very large. With the pollution of the environment and the mass hunting of people, wild frog resources are very rare, and now frogs have become national protected animals. But now the market demand for frogs has not decreased, so artificial breeding of frogs has become a new breeding project. So do you know what you need to pay attention to when raising frogs? Let's learn about it today.

1. Density

In the process of frog breeding, we should pay attention to raising frogs in separate ponds, and we should often observe the growth of frogs and adjust the density scientifically according to the growth of frogs. The density of frog farming should not be too large, or it will be easy to compete for food or fight. If the breeding density is too high, the pollution to the culture environment is relatively large, so under normal circumstances, it is best to raise about 20 to 50 frogs per square meter. The second is that when frogs are divided into groups, they must be carried out according to their strength, so as to facilitate fattening in the later stage.

2. Water quality

Frogs also have high requirements for water quality, so we should strictly manage the water quality in the process of breeding. If we use stagnant water culture in open-air ponds, we need to change water frequently, but if it is live water culture or running water culture, we need to increase the speed of water flow appropriately to improve water quality. In addition, in the process of culture, it is also necessary to disinfect the culture pond from time to time to prevent bacterial infection.

3. Temperature

The temperature of breeding is too high or too low has an effect on the growth of frogs. In general, frogs are suitable for growing in an environment with a temperature of 16 to 32 degrees, but when frogs have the best appetite and maximum food intake, the temperature is usually about 23 degrees. When the temperature in the farm is below 15 degrees, the frog will slowly stop feeding, and when the temperature drops again, it will go into hibernation. But if the temperature is too high, the frog will stop feeding, and this is an abnormal phenomenon, which has a great impact on the growth of frogs.

4. Feeding

Frogs are also fussy about feeding, so we can't feed them casually. When feeding the frog, we should mix the live bait with the dead bait to lure the frogs. Because most frogs only eat live bait, but very often we don't have that kind of live bait to feed, so we need to induce them to eat dead bait. In addition, the cost of breeding live bait is higher than that of dead bait, so it is also disadvantageous to farmers. Generally speaking, the live bait for bait is in the first two months, and after the frog adapts, the dead bait is directly fed. Of course, sometimes in order to improve the palatability of the feed, some live bait can be fed properly.

5. Escape prevention

There is also one thing to pay attention to in frog breeding is to take measures to prevent escape. We should set up a fence around the farm in advance to prevent the frog from escaping. If the anti-escape measures are not done well, the frog will not come back after escaping, and the loss to the farmers is very great.
