The money tree, also known as the snow iron taro, is a perennial herb, the ornamental value of the money tree is very high. It can be seen almost everywhere, and the money tree has a very high purification effect, which can improve the air quality. Now the planting area of the money tree is getting wider and wider, so how do we breed when we plant it? The following editor has brought you the breeding method of the money tree, let's have a look!

1. Leaf cutting propagation

The tubers of the tree are very large, and in the process of planting, the tubers often derive new small tubers and form compound leaves. The life span of compound leaves can reach about 2 years, and can be renewed continuously. So we can reproduce through the new small plants of the mother stem. The number of compound leaves is about 20. First of all, the small leaves of different growth stages should be cut off, and the leaves of different shapes should be vertically and horizontally inserted into the sand bed. After cutting, it should be watered in time to ensure sufficient water content. After about two months, the petiole gradually expands and new roots emerge. Although the rooting rate of leaf cutting propagation is high, the number of mother plants produced every year is not high, so the propagation rate is relatively slow.

2. Cuttage propagation

Cutting propagation is mainly the use of a single leaf or leaf axis for propagation. The cutting substrate can choose fine sand, soil and so on. When cutting, insert the cuttings into about half the depth of the substrate and leave the leaves on the outside. After cutting, water should be thoroughly watered and a certain degree of shade should be maintained. The temperature is controlled at about 26 degrees. According to the water content of the matrix, spray water properly to keep the matrix moist. But not too much, to prevent stagnant water leading to cuttings rot, affecting the survival rate of cuttings. About half a month after cutting, bulbs can be formed at the base of the leaves, and then carefully managed for about 3 months to become a separate plant. Although the rooting rate of cutting propagation is high, the seedling rate is relatively low.

3. Ramet propagation

First of all, a sturdy money tree should be dug out completely, and then shake off the soil at the root. Observe the distribution of tubers, break off the relatively soft places, and then apply some sulfur powder to the wound to promote wound healing. Then separate the plant to another planting, in the planting should pay attention to its depth, not too deep, keep at about two centimeters. And the tubers of the money tree have latent buds, so we can also divide the tubers into small pieces with latent buds. Promote its wound healing, and then bury it in fine sand, carefully managed, when it takes root and grows normally, it becomes a single plant.

The above is a brief introduction to the breeding methods of money tree, there are many kinds of breeding methods, but mainly by ramet. Although the other two species take root quickly, they are not conducive to large-scale reproduction, so we must pay more attention to them. That's all for today's introduction.
