How to raise Phalaenopsis "Queen of Lanzhong"? When will it blossom? What if the flowers wilt?
Phalaenopsis is a kind of plant suitable for indoor culture, and its flowers are similar to butterflies. Elegant, elegant. With the reputation of "queen of orchid", flowers are the most ornamental part of Phalaenopsis. So how to grow Phalaenopsis? When will it blossom? What if the flowers wilt?
How to raise Phalaenopsis?
1. Culture environment
(1) temperature: preferably sixteen to thirty degrees. Do not fall below thirteen degrees in winter and no higher than thirty-two degrees in summer.
(2) humidity: this refers to the air wettability, preferably between 60% and 80.
(3) watering: the growth period is in spring and summer, and more watering can be done. You can do it twice a day in summer, at nine in the morning and five in the afternoon. Less watering during dormancy, but no watering in winter.
(4) Illumination: it can be placed in a semi-shady place at ordinary times, and scattered light can be provided before and after flowering.
(5) fertilization: a large amount is needed in the growth period, and dilute liquid fertilizer can be used every other week to ten days. Use phosphate fertilizer at flowering stage, once every two or three weeks.
2. Pruning
What we are talking about here is mainly after flowering. The flowering period of the plant is usually around the Spring Festival, and the flowers will wither after about two or three months. At this time, the withered flowers should be cut off in time to reduce the consumption of nutrients. If it is cut from four to five nodes at the base of the stem, it will blossom again, but it is not conducive to flowering next year. Therefore, the right thing to do is to cut the flower stem from the bottom.
3. Change the basin
The growth rate of the plant is very fast and the pot needs to be changed regularly. If the matrix is aging or the air permeability becomes worse, it should also be replaced in time. It can usually be changed around May, before the new leaves grow out. Replace the old undernourished or poorly breathable soil, and then replace it with a larger pot that suits the plant size. This can provide a relaxed growth environment for them.
When does Phalaenopsis blossom?
Phalaenopsis blossoms once or twice a year, the florescence is usually around the Spring Festival, and the viewing period can be as long as 2 to 3 months.
When the flowers wither, the withered flowers should be cut off as soon as possible, which can reduce the consumption of nutrients.
Cut the flower stem from 4 to 5 nodes at the base, and blossom again after 2 to 3 months.
But in a domestic environment, flowers can only blossom once a year.
Third, what if the flowers of Phalaenopsis wilt?
1. Control watering
Reason: watering too much water will lead to stagnant water in the soil, which will affect the normal physiological activities of Phalaenopsis roots and cause damage to them. After the root system is injured, it will be difficult to absorb nutrients, thus causing the petals of the plant to wilt.
Solution: if the situation is not very serious, put the flowerpot in a cool and ventilated place, let the stagnant water in the soil dry quickly, and then reduce watering. If the situation is serious, then we can only change the basin.
2. Reduce the light
Reason: if it is exposed to the sun for a long time, its flowers will also be sunburned by strong light, resulting in wilting.
Solution: move the plant indoors where there is no direct sunlight, or use a sunscreen to block part of the light for the plant.
3. Lower the temperature
Reason: too high temperature is also unable to adapt to the plant, growing in the high temperature environment for a long time, it will be affected, there will be wilting situation.
Solution: lower the temperature around the plant, or move the plant directly to a cooler place indoors for maintenance.
