Loquat is a kind of nutritious and healthy fruit, which is only available from March to April every year. Many people mistakenly think that the yellow fruit is apricot, but it is not, it is just similar in appearance. In recent years, with the development of science and technology, the taste of loquat has become more and more delicious, the meat is sweeter and more tender, and the economic benefit of loquat planting has also been improved. Let's take a look at how loquat planting techniques promote flowers, thinning flowers, fruits and vegetables.

First, how to promote flowers in loquat planting?

1. Early application and heavy application of strong fruit and shoot promoting fertilizer

In some parts of southern China, summer shoots are the fruiting mother branches of loquat, so cultivating excellent summer shoots is one of the measures to ensure high yield of loquat year after year. The fertilization time is after the early / middle mature varieties are harvested, and from mid-May to early June before the late-maturing varieties are harvested, the specific application rate (calculated as 1500 kg per 666.7 square meters of fruit) is 1500 kg of rotten farm manure, 45 kg of urea and 60 kg of superphosphate per 666.7 square meters. It is appropriate to dig shallow trench soil.

two。 Pull branches, take branches, twist branches

From July to August, when the summer shoot basically stops growing, it is appropriate to pull the branch and take the branch at an angle of 90 degrees with the main branch. Twist tips to promote flowers for some overgrown ones.

3. Cutting off roots to control water and keep soil properly dry

When the young and prosperous loquat trees or the loquat orchards with exuberant plant growth, when the summer shoot has 1 blade turning to green leaves, try to cut off most of the fine roots and a few backbone roots when the soil layer under the crown is shallowly ploughed at 20cm to 30cm and the leased roots are moderately exposed. Stop irrigation from August to September and keep dry in order to limit the growth of summer shoots, accelerate the turning of leaves to green, increase the nutrient accumulation of aboveground parts, and facilitate the early differentiation of flower buds.

4. Drug control

In early July and early August, 15% paclobutrazol 500x liquid or 300x liquid PBO accelerator was sprayed once. This method can effectively control the growth of new shoots, promote flower bud formation and improve flower quality.

5. Ring cutting, ring peeling and reverse peeling

This method is the most effective method to control shoots and promote flowers, but the technical requirements are high, and the implementation time is very strict. If improper measures are taken, it is easy to cause no flowers, fallen leaves or plant death, and it is only suitable for difficult flowering varieties or overgrown trees. Ring cutting is usually in the first and middle of July, and the depth is to cut through the bark without harming the essential part. In general, the backbone branches are cut 3-4 times, and the branchlets are cut 1-2 times, each with an interval of 1 cm. Using ring peeling and reverse peeling, the wound should be disinfected and bandaged with plastic film to moisturize.

Second, how to sparse flowers in loquat planting?

Flower thinning is divided into flower ear thinning and flower bud thinning. The time of thinning flower spike is from September to the first and middle of October, and the flower spike, floret spike, flower spike with diseases and insect pests and excessive flower spike on the weak branch are mainly removed, so that the ratio of vegetative branch to flower branch is 2 ∶ 1 or 1 ∶ 1. It is suitable for light thinning of early-maturing varieties, heavy thinning of late-maturing varieties, light thinning of strong and prosperous trees, and heavy thinning of old and weak trees. On the other hand, when the floret branches on the flower ear are scattered (from October to November), only 2 or 3 flower branches in the middle can be removed from the lower part of the flower ear and the tip of the upper part of the flower ear. In areas with frost damage, it is not advisable to loosen buds.

Third, how to plant loquat fruit thinning?

The time is in February when the residual flowers are exhausted (after the temperature has completely recovered in the areas with frost injury), the early-maturing varieties should be thinned early. According to the amount of fruit retained, there were 1 to 2 fruits per panicle for large fruit type varieties and 3 to 4 fruits per panicle for medium and small fruit type varieties. In a word, the middle and late ripening varieties and prosperous trees retain more branches, on the contrary, they leave less or no, so that the leaf-fruit ratio is kept at 5: 8 ∶ 1, and the yield is controlled at about 1500 kg per 666.7 square meters.
