Zebra evergreen is easy to maintain and can survive for a long time under general conditions. it is an ideal foliage plant for indoor greening and decoration. Is zebra evergreen poisonous? What is the breeding method?

Is the zebra evergreen poisonous?

Zebras are evergreen and poisonous. If you just take care of it indoors and don't go out and touch it, it's not toxic. Because the smell of zebra evergreen is non-toxic, it will not have any impact on the human body.

But this does not mean that the whole zebra evergreen is non-toxic, because its internal juice is toxic, when raising zebra evergreen in the family, do not touch the branches of its leaves and stems, it is harmful to the skin to a certain extent, if you accidentally touch the skin, you should immediately rinse it with soap flower water.

In particular, the branch sap of its leaves, if accidentally eaten, will make people dumb, so friends who have children at home had better not raise them, in case the children are not sensible enough to grab a handful and eat it, then there will be a lot of trouble.

2. Breeding methods of zebra evergreen

1. Lighting

Zebra evergreen is very afraid of direct sunlight and often grows in shade. Even a short period of sunshine is not allowed, because it will make its leaves yellow and withered, so it is different from other plants. It does not like light very much, and it is because of this that it is suitable for growing in the house.

2. Temperature

The zebra evergreen is really afraid of the cold, and the temperature had better be above 8 degrees in winter in order to keep it safe through the winter, otherwise frost injury will occur. Especially when the temperature is less than zero, it will let its plant die directly. Generally speaking, the most suitable temperature for its growth is between 18 and 30 degrees, so the temperature must be adjusted well.

3. Moisture

This is a very important point to pay attention to. If it is in summer, sooner or later we have to spray a little water on the evergreen leaves of the zebra, as well as on the ground around its plant. In this way, we can not only reduce the temperature, but also increase the humidity.

In spring and autumn, when watering, look at the dryness of the basin soil. If it is not dry, do not water it. If it is dry, you can water it properly. After entering the winter, we have to reduce watering, because if the basin soil is too wet at this time, it will make its roots rot.

4. Fertilization

Generally speaking, at the beginning of growing a zebra evergreen, we need to apply a little base fertilizer to it, and then when it comes to the growing season, that is, the spring and autumn season, we can add fertilizer to it every half a month or so to meet the nutrition it needs for growth. After that, in summer and winter, we no longer have to apply fertilizer. Otherwise, it will have the opposite effect.

5. Soil

Zebra evergreen likes to grow in loose, fertile, well-drained soil and is not tolerant to salinization. Generally speaking, when choosing basin soil, we use the most rotten leaf soil, garden soil and a small amount of river sand mixed basin soil, so that it can meet its growth needs and make it grow better in the future.
