Agriculture for export! The vegetable production and marketing class in Xingang Township, Chiayi County exported 5.7 metric tons of sweet peppers to Singapore on March 11, expanding the marketing channel for high-quality colored peppers in Chiayi County. Weng Zhangliang, the head of Chiayi County, visited the export situation and understood the needs of farmers.

In the afternoon, the 52nd class of vegetable production and marketing class in Xingang Township prepared 570 boxes of colored sweet peppers, with a total weight of 5.7 tons, to sell the "Jin Fujiu" sweet pepper brand to Singapore. Weng Zhangliang, the county magistrate, was especially present to pay attention to the export situation and understand the needs of farmers, and expected to gradually lead Chiayi's high-quality agricultural products to the global market.

Chiayi County has an appropriate temperature and sufficient sunshine in winter, giving birth to sweet peppers with a round appearance, full color and sufficient moisture. Xingang Township is the largest sweet pepper producing area in Taiwan, with an annual output of about 2000 metric tons, accounting for 12% of Taiwan's total output.

The 52nd class of vegetable production and marketing class in Xingang Township was awarded the top ten excellent agricultural production and marketing classes of the Council of Agriculture in 1949, producing sweet peppers. With modern production equipment and professional cultivation techniques, colored sweet peppers with good heat resistance, strong disease resistance, low fertilizer demand and short cultivation period were cultivated. Their flesh is thick, sweetness is 1 / 2 degrees higher than ordinary varieties and tastes crisp, and the storage time is one week longer than that of other countries. The overall quality of sweet pepper is improved. About nine years ago, it began to export to Southeast Asia and Canada. So far this year, it has exported 120 tons, with the goal of exporting 150 metric tons.

County Mayor Weng Zhangliang, Xingang Township Mayor Lin Maosheng, County Councillors Lin Xiuqin, Chen Wenzhong, Huang Zhenyu, Director General of Chiayi County Peasant Association, and Cai Shanghao, general manager of trader Qijin Enterprise Company, sealed the colored sweet peppers in the vegetable production and marketing class in Xingang Township and announced that they were exported to Singapore and set sail.
