There are many breeding methods of cyclamen, among which seed planting is more common, but how to plant cyclamen seeds?

How to plant cyclamen seeds

1. Sowing time: the best sowing time is from September to October.

2. Seed selection: choose large and full seeds.

3. Seed treatment: cyclamen seeds are larger, about 100 seeds per gram, and the general germination rate is 85.95%, but the germination is slow and the seedlings are uneven. In order to promote germination early and neatly, seed soaking can be carried out before sowing. Soak the seeds in cold water for one day or night or soak in 30 ℃ warm water for 2 hours, then wash off the adhesion on the surface of the seeds, wrap them in a wet cloth to accelerate germination, keep the temperature at about 25 ℃, leave them for 1 day or 2 days, and then take out and sow the seeds after they germinate slightly.

4. Sowing soil: it is a mixture of loam, rotten leaf soil and river sand.

5. Sowing method: sowing in a shallow basin or box at a distance of 1.5 to 2.0 square meters, and the thickness of covering soil is 0.5 to 1.0 meters. Soak the water with the basin method, cover the glass, put it in a place of 18-20 ℃ for about 30-40 days, remove the glass in time after germination, and place it in a sunny and ventilated place.

6. Seedling division: when the sowing seedling grows a true leaf, the seedling is divided for the first time and moved into a shallow basin with a distance of 3.5 cm. The basin soil is mixed with rotten leaf soil 5, loam 3 and river sand 2. When planting, the top of the ball should be level with the soil surface. Soak in water after planting and shade properly. When the seedlings resume growth, gradually give light, strengthen ventilation, do not make the basin soil dry, the temperature is kept at 15 ℃ ~ 18 ℃, appropriate forced application of nitrogen fertilizer, pay attention not to make fertilizer and water stain the leaf surface, so as not to cause leaf rot. Sprinkle water once after fertilization to keep the leaves clean.

7. Transplanting: when the seedling grows to 3 ~ 5 leaves, it is moved into a 10-meter basin, at this time, the ratio of basin soil can be changed to rotten leaf soil 3, loam 2, river sand 1, and apply rotten cake fertilizer and bone powder as base fertilizer. After March to April, the temperature gradually increased, the leaves of the plant increased, the growth grew, and the demand for fertilizer and water also increased. We should strengthen the management of fertilizer and water, keep the basin soil moist and strengthen ventilation, cover the strong sunlight at noon and keep the temperature as low as possible. Prevent Rain Water and the basin soil from getting too wet to avoid bulb rot. It should be cultivated in a shade with rain-proof equipment outdoors.

8. Fixed value: planted in a 20 cm basin in September, the bulb can be planted on the surface of the soil. The basin soil is rotten leaf soil 3, loam 2, river sand 1, but need to apply base fertilizer. Forced fertilizer should be applied more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to promote flower bud differentiation. After the bud appeared in November, stop topdressing, give sufficient light, begin to blossom in December, and reach full flowering in February of the following year, that is, it takes about 13 to 15 months from sowing to flowering.

Indoor air quality is very important to our health, so machines such as air purifiers, adsorbents and humidifiers appear in our lives. In fact, green plants also have similar functions of these advanced equipment, cyclamen is such a flower.

1. It has the function of purifying air. Cyclamen has a strong ability to absorb sulfur dioxide, strong resistance, and also has a certain ability to absorb other harmful gases. It absorbs sulfur dioxide through leaves and converts it into non-toxic or low-toxic sulfates by oxidation. In addition, cyclamen can absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen at the same time, and can increase the content of negative ions in indoor air and increase air humidity. It is appropriate to put it at home.

2. It has a comfortable aroma. Most cyclamen have aroma, some varieties have very strong aroma, some are light, some have no aroma. This kind of fragrant cyclamen can make people relax in the intense work. The volatile substances released by it have a good regulating effect on people's mood, and some of the fragrances emitted can change people's listless state, exhilarate spirits, or sedate and help sleep. Coupled with its humidification function, it plays an important role in protecting the skin in a closed room with air conditioning. But also constantly replenish fresh oxygen, which is very beneficial to our health. Put the pleasing cyclamen in your field of vision to eliminate the physical fatigue of the eyes and cheer for yourself.

Cyclamen has beautiful shape, fresh color and vibrant vitality. Then you might as well keep some pots in your room as a natural air purifier.
