Fertilization is an important link in the process of rice planting, which needs topdressing for many times in the whole growth period. Each fertilization is very important for rice and is the foundation of its growth and development. If fertilizer damage is caused by improper fertilization, how to prevent fertilizer damage? Let's take a look.

1. Ammonia fumigation

Symptoms and causes: the leaves show a uniform bright yellow at the beginning, with the passage of time, the whole leaves become yellowish brown or reddish brown, and in severe cases, the leaves will die. The main reason is that due to the application of ammonia, the leaves are fumigated as the wind blows away, and ammonium bicarbonate is sprinkled on the field during fertilization, which will volatilize ammonia in the process of decomposition, resulting in local leaf fumigation, especially in the basal leaves.

Prevention and control measures: when using ammonia, we should pay attention to keeping the shallow water in the field and ploughing immediately after fertilization, so that the ammonium can be absorbed by the soil, so that the ammonia will not volatilize and is beneficial to the absorption of the root system. Fertilization should not be carried out at noon, topdressing should also pay attention to the concentration of 1% Murray 2%, and pay attention to the wind direction so as not to fumigate the leaves.

2. Ammonium sulfate burns

Symptoms and causes: there are irregular white spots on the damaged leaves, which sometimes turn black and rotten. The main reason is that when fertilizing ammonium sulfate, the dew is not dry, the fertilizer adheres to the leaves, the local concentration of the adherent fertilizer is high, and the Rain Water chemical synthesis is lost, which makes the leaves lose burns and bleach chlorophyll. In the later stage of growth, if the field is short of water, too much ammonium sulfate or uneven application will cause the root system to blacken and rot.

Prevention and control measures: pay attention to the application of ammonium sulfate, should not be carried out in the morning when the dew is not dry or there are water droplets on the leaves, so as to avoid fertilizer adhering to the leaves, fertilization should maintain the water layer, ploughing once, which is beneficial to root absorption.

3. Ammonia burns with lime

Symptoms and causes: the injured leaves began to turn dark red, and then the burns showed many scattered reddish brown or dark brown spots, and soon the leaf tips withered and became reddish brown, just like the fire, and in severe cases, the roots blackened and withered. The main reason is that the edible spots of lime nitrogen cause the powder particles to adhere to the leaves, resulting in brown or dark green water-immersed spots.

Prevention and control measures: when using limestone ammonia as base fertilizer, dry ploughing once after spreading, and transplanting rice seedlings in irrigation a week later, it is safer. In addition, lime ammonia is not suitable for direct topdressing, it should be mixed with 10 times wet soil for 10-20 days, keep it moist, and apply it after its toxicity is eliminated.
