Are azaleas easy to raise? How to raise azaleas well? For those of you who want to know, let's take a look at the following introduction!

Are azaleas easy to raise?

If it is for novice flower friends, it is not easy to raise azaleas, but for those who have some experience in growing flowers, azaleas are relatively easy to raise, although they may not be able to produce the effect in the greenhouse, but they can also be full of vitality.

Why is it difficult for novice flower lovers to raise azaleas?

When we buy azaleas, most of them are holiday flowers seen in the flower market. They bloom a lot and look very good-looking, but they are urged to bloom behind them. Many flower friends ask for help after buying cuckoos home. The flowers wilt and the leaves wilt. I don't know why. In fact, this is the result of cuckoo environmental inadaptability. Moreover, azaleas also have requirements for humidity, and the soil likes sour ones, which is very difficult for flower friends in the north. As a result, many rhododendrons bought by flower friends will slowly die out before long.

Does it mean that azaleas are not suitable for family farming?

Of course not. Although azaleas are difficult for beginners, as long as you understand them carefully, even the north can raise azaleas well. The key lies in patience and perseverance, occasionally buying a pot in the flower market on a whim, or giving a pot to others, which is very difficult to raise well.

How to raise azaleas well

First of all, you need to understand the growth habits of azaleas, remember that azaleas have six joys and six taboos: like cool, avoid heat; like half-shade, avoid scorching sun; like moist, avoid dryness; like acid soil, avoid alkaline soil; like light soil, avoid clayey soil; like good drainage, avoid waterlogging. Once you have mastered these, I believe you will be able to raise rhododendron flowers.

Azalea is a semi-shade plant, can not be exposed to the sun, otherwise it is easy to burn leaves. After leaving the room in spring, it should be soft and sunny, and pay attention to shading around noon; and after summer, it should be placed in a cool and ventilated place, and shade should be paid attention to in the middle of summer, which can be avoided before 8 o'clock in the morning and 5: 6 p.m.; after entering autumn, the light slows down and can be placed in a sunny place, which is conducive to the differentiation of azaleas flower buds; azaleas are placed indoors in sunny places in winter.

The suitable temperature for the growth of rhododendron is 15 ℃ 25 ℃, the highest temperature is no more than 32 ℃, and the overwintering temperature is not lower than 5 mol. At the end of autumn around mid-October, azaleas should be kept indoors for maintenance. In winter, azaleas should be kept in a sunny place and the indoor temperature should be kept at 5 ℃ 10 ℃, but not less than 5 ℃, otherwise azaleas will stop growing or die.

When planting and changing soil, the rhododendron is watered once, so that the root system is in full contact with the soil, which is conducive to the survival and growth of the root. Cuckoo peanuts should be watered for a long time, especially in the middle of summer, must not be short of water, watering every morning and evening, and often spray foliar water to keep moist, but not stagnant water. After entering the house in winter, the azaleas should be watered less, and the watering should not continue until the pot soil is dry.

Rhododendron fertilization is very important, but it is necessary to grasp the season, so as to achieve timely, appropriate amount and proper concentration. Rhododendron has strong ability to absorb water and fertilizer, so it is suitable for alum fertilizer. From March to May, fertilization should be applied once a week; from June to August, the growth of rhododendron was in a state of semi-dormancy, and fertilization should be stopped; when rhododendron entered autumn in late September, phosphorus-containing liquid fertilizer should be applied every 10 days, and rhododendron basically stopped growing after October. Should stop fertilizing.

Azaleas should always pick their hearts to promote new branches, and buds should be picked in time at the bud stage, so that nutrients can be concentrated and the flowers will be colorful. Rhododendron has strong germination, and too many branches will affect its growth, which needs to be adjusted by pruning. Pruning is often carried out after the flower fade in spring and autumn, and it is necessary to cut off dead branches, oblique branches, long branches, disease and insect branches, and cross branches, and remove residual flowers in time to avoid nutrient consumption and make azaleas bloom plump.

Azalea is prone to diseases and insect pests such as brown spot, crown net bug, root rot, red spider, iron deficiency chlorosis, gray mold and so on, which will affect the early defoliation, weaken the growth and reduce the ornamental value of rhododendron. Good azaleas must pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests, usually more ventilation, drainage loose soil, sterilization and disinfection, if diseases and insect pests occur, it is necessary to take corresponding measures to control them in time.
