Rattan pepper, also known as Zanthoxylum bungeanum and Zanthoxylum bungeanum, is a small deciduous tree, which is planted in most parts of our country. Rattan pepper its roots and leaves as well as fruits and seeds can be used in medicine, with the functions of dispelling wind and dispelling cold and relieving pain. So do you know what problems you need to pay attention to when planting rattan pepper? Next, let's take a look at the matters needing attention in the planting of rattan pepper mentioned below, to see how much we know.

1. Soil

The drainage of rattan pepper planting land is better, the soil is fertile, the soil is soft, and the water source is rich, followed by sufficient light near the planting land, and preferably neutral or acidic soil, alkaline soil is still not suitable for planting rattan pepper. There is the previous crop is not leguminous plants, at the same time can not be repeated, otherwise prone to diseases, and the growth is not good.

2. Time

In fact, rattan pepper is generally planted in spring and autumn, the survival rate of planting in these two seasons will be a lot. Spring is usually planted when the surface temperature rises after the soil is thawed, usually around March of each year, while autumn is usually carried out in September or October, of course, after rain, if there is no rain.

3. Prepare seedlings

The main purpose of the preparation of rattan pepper seedlings is to improve the survival rate of seedlings. First of all, when we dig seedlings, it is best to dig vertically with a hoe, and the depth should not be less than 20 centimeters, otherwise it will hurt the roots of the seedlings. If the roots of the seedlings dug out are incomplete, it will affect the survival rate of planting. In addition, if we do not plant immediately, we also need to wrap the seedlings with thin film to avoid the phenomenon of water loss. But if the seedling loses water, we need to put the seedling into the water immediately and let it absorb enough water, otherwise it will die.

4. Planting seedlings

It is also fastidious when planting rattan pepper. First of all, we should dig the planting pit, which is generally about 50 centimeters deep, and then put the seedlings into the pit, sprinkle fine soil around, and compact the soil with our feet. We must not hit the ground with a hoe for compaction, which will affect the survival of seedlings. Watering is needed after planting to promote the growth of new roots of the seedlings.

5. Moisture

Rattan pepper has the characteristics of wetting, so that is to say, in its growth process, the demand for water is still relatively large. Especially during the cultivation of rattan pepper seedlings, we should often water to keep the soil moist, at the same time, buds to avoid stagnant water in the field, affecting the growth and development of seedlings. In case of heavy rainfall, drainage should be carried out in a timely manner.

6. Density

The planting density of rattan pepper is also a problem we need to pay attention to. First of all, reasonable planting density, which can ensure the permeability of the field and improve the yield of rattan pepper; secondly, it is convenient for field management and operation; and it is convenient for late harvest. In general, it is best to plant 25 to 30 plants of rattan pepper per mu, that is to say, the distance between each plant is about five meters, and the distance between each row is also five meters.

The above are several points that need to be paid attention to when planting rattan pepper. I believe that many of them are well known to everyone. In fact, these points are very common in the planting process. I hope they can help you.
