Chu orange is a kind of sweet orange native to Yunnan. Chu orange has high sugar content, rich vitamin C and high nutritional value. Compared with other oranges, the peel is thicker, but it is easier to peel off, so it is welcomed by many people as soon as it comes on the market. So how do we grow Chu orange? Today, the editor brings you the planting technology of Chu Orange. Let's take a look at it.

1. Choose a place to build a garden

Chu orange is suitable to grow on the soil with rich soil, soft and deep soil and rich organic matter. After selecting a good site, the soil should be turned deep, mechanical deep ploughing can be carried out if possible, and attention should be paid to building a good pedestrian passageway to facilitate later management. Prepare the water conservancy facilities, and then control the planting density and dig the planting ditch six months before planting, and then do a good job of ripening the soil in the planting ditch. After successful ripening, topsoil was filled in the planting ditch, and then organic fertilizer and organic matter were applied layer by layer on the topsoil to improve soil fertility.

2. Seed selection and seedling raising

In seed selection, high-yield varieties with large fruit, more fruit juice and less fruit drop and cracking should be selected. The propagation method of Chu orange is generally based on grafting, and the grafted rootstock is mainly trifoliate orange. The cultivation of robust seedlings is the key to ensure the high and stable yield of Chu orange. Seedlings should ensure the development of roots and promote the healing of grafting interface as soon as possible after grafting. When the grafted seedlings grow to about 45 cm and have about 4 branches, pseudo-planting is carried out. Fake planting should be carried out with soil, and choose soil with sufficient sunshine, sufficient water and sufficient fertility, preferably near the planting garden to facilitate transplanting.

3. Timely planting

The size of the planting pit is mainly determined according to the size of the seedlings, which can ensure that the roots of the seedlings are in full contact with the soil. If no base fertilizer is applied, then the planting pit should be slightly enlarged to facilitate the fertilization work after planting. The best planting time of Chu orange should be around September every year, but it can also be carried out in early spring and early summer. When planting, put the root of the seedling into the planting pit, and then fill the soil layer by layer, pay attention to the depth and keep it moderate. Then cover the root with a layer of fine soil, compact the soil root after filling, then pour enough water, cut off some branches and leaves, and water once every 5 days or so.

4. Field management

Water and fertilizer is very important to the growth of Chu orange. In the process of planting, we should apply fertilizer and water reasonably according to the different age of Chu orange tree to meet the water and nutrition needs of Chu orange. Then if there is consolidation in the soil of the adult orchard, the intertillage work will be carried out every autumn. Break the soil consolidation, then expand the planting hole appropriately, apply farm manure once, and improve the structure of the soil. And the planting distance of Chu orange is relatively large, so we can plant some vegetables between the rows of Chu orange, but we should not plant tall plants to prevent the growth of Chu orange from being affected.

The above is a brief introduction to the planting technology of Chu orange. Chu orange planting is actually similar to other ordinary oranges. But we also need to do a good job in management to ensure the output of Chu orange, enhance the quality of Chu orange and improve the planting efficiency. That's all for today's introduction.
