Geraniums are propagated mainly by geraniums, but how to plant geraniums is the most common question asked by people who grow geraniums. Next, let's take a look at the methods of geranium propagation.

It is well known that geranium is a kind of plant with relatively tenacious vitality, which can be tenacious in the case of low temperature and high temperature, but many flower lovers will find it difficult to insert black rot and gray mold, especially in summer. The survival rate is very low. I would like to introduce to you a relatively simple and high survival rate. I had a survival rate of nearly 80% in July.

Geraniums insert various indicators:

1. The time is November, and the indoor temperature is 19-21 degrees.

2. Perlite, peat and river sand are selected as the matrix, and the matrix is washed with boiling water after mixing.

3. The top of the branch is topped with geraniums, and the cutting point is selected at the leaf node.

4. Cut a few breathable holes at the bottom and periphery of the cup, wash the matrix and cool it, then punch a hole in the middle with chopsticks to cut branches.

5. After inserting the foam, put it into the foam box, pour it into the foam box like 1 meter of cold boiled water, put it indoors where you can see the sun, and add water when you see that there is less water in the box.

The method of Propagation of Pelargonium

The first choice of containers, different seasons choose different containers, must not be too large, I batch insert to take the seedling plate as an example, 50 points in summer is more suitable for 72 holes in spring and autumn, and 128 points in winter (see picture). The most important point is that you must disinfect. The best disinfection method is very simple. After rinsing the container with clean water, put it in the sun for three days, and avoid being caught in the rain. Flower friends can also choose other containers to soak with disinfectant at home.

Second, there are many kinds of peat substrates. I use the simplest and cheapest, peat soil. I personally suggest that we use imported peat. I use domestic mud in order to save costs. Peat soil is put into a container to compact. Remember to compact the air out of the soil! In this way, the roots coming out in small days will be very strong and the survival rate will be very high, followed by the disinfection of the matrix, which is generally treated with carbendazim meltwater and methyl topiramate in summer.

Third, I see that many people use some old branches to do cuttings. They may think this kind of branches are relatively sturdy and have a high survival rate, but I do not think it is very ideal, and the old branches have almost no advantages. I usually use twigs to cut seedlings. Twigs have several advantages. 1. The top advantage is strong and the nutrient is rich. The slow seedling period is short, but the old branches not only take root slowly, but also are easy to rot with miscellaneous bacteria. (2) the rooting is fast, and the insertion cycle can be reduced by about a week. (3) it can save area, can be managed in batches for many times, small branches can reduce watering times, and ventilation is ideal to reduce pathological changes due to poor ventilation. (3) it grows rapidly after survival, and the plant type can be easily controlled!

The fourth cutting management, small branches should not be treated with rooting powder, it is easy to rot, especially in summer. In fact, the day is very easy to take root, pay attention to the humidity of the substrate, see dry and wet (the surface of the matrix is dry and the sky is not wilting) must not always be wet, would rather be dry. Use fungicides once a week, watering is better in the morning, the light problem is more important, put it in the semi-cool place 3 days after summer planting, and then as for long-term storage in the sun, just pay attention to the dry and wet substrate. Summer needs to be placed in the semi-shade, sooner or later to see some sunshine, about 15 to 20 days will take root.

These are all the methods and techniques of geranium insertion and reproduction that I have summarized for you. I hope this article can help you. Please continue to follow us.
