1. Grafting time

2. Selection of rootstock and scion

The rootstock should choose the peach seedlings with strong growth, no diseases and insect pests and sturdy stems above 0.5 cm. It has the characteristics of fast growth and grows very fast after grafting. On the other hand, the scion should choose the new branches on the peach trees with excellent varieties that have grown for more than 3 years, which requires smooth and delicate seedlings, strong growth, no diseases and insect pests, full flower buds and consistent stems.

3. Grafting method

Prepare grafting tools, plastic wrapping strips, knives, etc., there are many methods of grafting in production, the commonly used method is bud grafting. Select a bud hole on the rootstock, peel it around 1 cm above and below it with a knife, reach to the xylem, and peel off the bark and the bud eye together. Then cut a bud of the same size on the scion with the same method, press it into the place of the peeled bud, fit it closely, and then bind it firmly with a plastic bandage.

4. Management after grafting

After grafting, it should be checked every 7-10 days to erase the bud hole of the rootstock hill in time, so as to concentrate nutrition and make the bud grow exuberantly. In addition, after the wound of the grafting site heals, the plastic bandage strip can be removed to avoid overflow injury. After the grafting survives, the plant grows vigorously and needs a large amount of fertilizer. Timely fertilization, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, can be sprayed with foliar fertilizer to promote the rapid growth of the plant.
