Do you like coffee? If you like coffee, you must not know the coffee grounds. What are the benefits? Do you want to know about it? In fact, coffee grounds have many wonderful uses, the most commonly used is composting!

If you don't need to fertilize immediately, you can compost the coffee grounds for later use. Composting is a natural process that turns organic matter such as food residues and yard debris into dark, rich substances called compost or humus. Adding compost to your yard or garden can help the soil retain more nutrition and moisture, thereby improving the health of plants.

Compost made from coffee grounds and kitchen waste is richer than compost made from garbage alone, a study has found. Another study compared four batches of compost containing 0, 10, 10, 20% and 40% coffee grounds. Batches containing 40% coffee grounds produce the lowest greenhouse gas emissions and the highest quality compost. Other items of composting include grass crumbs, leaves, bark, broken newspapers, brushes, herbs, eggshells, old bread and fruit and vegetable ingredients. You should avoid composting meat and fish crumbs, dairy products, diseased plants, fats and oils.

Adding compost to your garden can significantly improve the health of plants. Coffee grounds can help improve nutrition and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from composting. Coffee grounds can also be put directly into the soil to grow flowers, but the effect is not as good as coffee composting.

Drive away insects and pests

Some compounds found in coffee, such as caffeine and diterpenes, are highly toxic to insects. Therefore, you can use coffee grounds to ward off bugs. They can effectively stop mosquitoes, fruit flies and beetles, and they can also help prevent other pests. To use coffee grounds as an insect and pest repellent, simply put the bowl on the floor or sprinkle it around the outdoor rest area. You can also prevent pests from entering your garden by spreading coffee grounds around the plants. They help form barriers that slu and and snails don't like to crawl.

Remove fleas from your pet

Fleas are a common problem for family pets, and treating them can be expensive and time-consuming. There are several flea removal products on the market, but many contain irritating chemicals that can cause unnecessary side effects. Fortunately, fleas don't seem to like coffee, and you may want to use coffee grounds as a natural therapy. After taking a bath, just wipe the ground on the pet's fur. Then rinse them clean and let the pets dry as usual.

Neutralize the smell

Coffee grounds contain nitrogen, which when combined with carbon helps to remove the foul-smelling sulfur gas in the air. In other words, coffee grounds can help absorb and eliminate odors. You can put a bowl of coffee grounds in the refrigerator or freezer to neutralize the smell of spoiled or aromatic food. You can also fill old socks or pantyhose with coffee grounds and tie them to make portable air fresheners. Put them in your shoes, gym bag, bedroom drawer, car seat or other place where deodorization may be needed. You can even keep the coffee grounds through the sink and wash your hands with them after chopping garlic or onions. The ground will help remove the smell from the hands.
