The normal growth of Manila lawn should be paid special attention in two aspects: one is the soil preparation before laying, and the other is the maintenance of fertilizer and water after laying. Let's take a look at it.

Culture and nursing of lawn in Manila

Site cleaning: remove all debris from the ping site, such as stones, garbage, woody plants and roots, etc.

Soil ploughing: the suitable time for soil ploughing should be carried out when the soil field capacity is 50% to 60%. The ploughing depth is generally 15~25cm, and the new land is 20~30cm. Deep ploughing is beneficial to the root growth of turfgrass.

Breeding season: the most suitable time for separate plant propagation of turfgrass is the rainy season, that is, the plum rain season. It rains almost every day this season, which is very conducive to the survival of turfgrass, and can greatly reduce the labor force of artificial watering, thus reducing the cost of production.

Planting management: when planting, the soil moisture should be about 50%. If the soil is too wet, it is easy to cause hardening, and the over-dry root system is not easy to contact with the soil. If it is too dry, it should be thoroughly watered 48 hours before planting. When planting, the turfgrasses with good ramets were planted in the turf bed according to the row spacing of 3 cm. The order of planting should be backward from the middle to the four sides, pay attention to the root system can not be exposed, bury the root in the soil, do not nest the root, otherwise it will die or grow poorly.

Timely watering: watering is a prerequisite to ensure the normal growth of lawn grass in Manila, especially for lawns that are about to turn green, and it is best to use fog sprinkler irrigation for newly planted lawns. irrigation should be continued until the soil is completely wet at the depth of 2.5 to 3 meters; for the old lawn that has been formed, the greater the intensity of use, the greater the water demand.

Proper fertilization: the effect of fertilization in spring is the best. Fertilization before turning green can promote the growth of terminal buds 7 to 10 days ahead of time, which is beneficial to the growth and expansion of roots. If fertilized from March to April, the lawn can germinate 15 to 20 days earlier. Manila lawn needs to be fertilized twice a year, and the application time should be in early spring and midsummer. The appropriate application rate is 6 kg to 10 kg per 100m2, the ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is 5 ∶ 3 ∶ 2, in which the content of long-acting nitrogen fertilizer should account for more than 50% of the nitrogen fertilizer application.

Lawn rolling: generally, after thawing in spring every year, the soil is rolled, which does not cause the soil to peel off and expose the grass roots after the lawn is frozen, and the growth is poor and uneven. Rolling can make it in close contact with the soil in order to take root and make the lawn grass grow denser and flatter.

Pest control of lawn in Manila

1. Disease: Manila lawn is susceptible to disease, mainly infecting leaves or leaf sheaths. In severe cases, the disease spots are closely layered, leaves turn yellow and longitudinal rolls dry up. Prevention and control methods: combined with lawn pruning, timely removal of diseased leaves, concentrated burying or burning, and elimination of pathogens: during the infection period from June to early July, 1000-15% pink rust was sprayed together with the ground.

2. Insect pests: there are mainly two kinds of insect pests in Manila lawn. One is Sidemia depravata Butler, alias Spodoptera litura and Spodoptera litura, which belongs to the family Lepidoptera. The larvae eat Manila grass and are overeating pests. They eat up Manila grass at a time, affect viewing, and control methods: grasp the timely spraying of each generation of larvae before they are dispersed at the initial stage. 90% trichlorfon crystal thermometer can be sprayed with 1000 times or less 50% fenitrothion milk ink 800Mel 1000 times to kill larvae and prevent the spread of insect pests.

Laying Manila lawn can not only beautify the environment, but also prevent wind and fix sand, and play a very important role in the protection of the ecological environment.
