Du Ying's branches and leaves are very dense, if several Duying plants together will form a lush dense forest feeling, can also achieve the effect of leaf observation before flowering, so it is often seen in a variety of garden designs.

First, du Ying's introduction

Du Ying belongs to Duying genus of Duying family, evergreen tree, generally up to 10-20 meters high, up to 26 meters high, the crown is ovoid, the bark is dark brown, smooth, the branchlets are reddish brown, sparsely pubescent when young, later smooth, the leaves are thin leathery, flowering from June to August, and the seeds are ripe for 10-12 months. This species has dense branches and leaves, some leaves turn red after frost, red and green, very beautiful, suitable for lawn, slope, forest edge, pre-court, intersection cluster planting, can also be planted as a background tree for other flowers and trees.

June to July is the florescence of du Ying. Flowers grow on the branches, and there are two rows of alternate flowers on the branches, with more than a dozen flowers in one row. Du Ying Hua is a small white flower with a diameter of less than one centimeter. The upper part of the five petals is split into filaments, and there are five green calyx to support. There is a green column in the middle, with dozens of flower cores arranged around the column. Look carefully, the white and elegant florets are also beautiful enough. When you pass by the tree, you can smell the strong sweet scent of flowers.

2. Key points of cultivation techniques of du Ying

Sowing: the sowing time is from February to May. Strip sowing is adopted, with a distance of 25 cm, a width of 10-12 m, a depth of 3 m, and a sowing rate of 8-10 kg per mu. Sprinkling proper amount of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus during sowing is beneficial to root formation. The covering soil should be thin, the cover seed should be scorched mud and ash, and the thickness should be no seed.

Raising seedlings: keep the soil loose and moist, which is beneficial to seed germination. The emergence period is about 30-40 days. When 70% of the seedlings were unearthed, the mulch was removed in the evening, and the next evening, 0.1% solution of dimethazone was sprayed on the seedbed to prevent the occurrence of diseases.

Fertilization: at the initial stage of seedling growth, the concentration of 3% Mel 5% rarefied human feces and urine is applied every half a month. It can be poured with 1% superphosphate or 0.2% urea solution after mid-May.

Weeding: in line with the principle of "getting rid of the small, getting rid of the early, except". After 3 to 4 times of weeding, the seedlings can be closed at the end of July, and there is no need to weed after that. Alternately spray 1200 ml / ha with 50% Acetochlor and 12.5 ml / ha for 45 days.

Moisture: ditch cleaning and drainage should be done well in the rainy season and irrigation should be done in the dry season.

III. Disease and pest control of du Ying

1. Control methods of inchworm:

Before Eclosion, adults dig pupae at the base of the tree trunk.

Light traps and kills male adults, and male adults fly at night to mate with female adults, and use their phototaxis to set up black light to trap and kill male moths.

two。 Prevention and treatment of sunburn:

To maintain a properly fixed trunk height, the canopy can shade its trunk from 11:00 to 3pm in summer to prevent it from being exposed to strong direct sunlight in the middle of summer.

As the planting density of landscape trees is appropriate, the crowns can shade the trunk laterally.

When the canopy cannot shade the trunk, wrap the trunk to the lowest branching point with grass rope to protect the trunk from direct light.

3. Control methods of leaf blight:

Use 50% thiophanate wettable powder 500 times 600 times liquid, or 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder 500 times liquid, or 50% diclozole (Yekuling) powder 1000 times liquid, or 10% Shikujing wettable powder 1000 times liquid. In order to enhance the adhesion of the liquid on the leaves, 0.1% washing powder can be added to the solution.

This is the end of du Ying's relevant introduction. In addition to the main points mentioned above, when cultivating du Ying, we should also pay attention to timely pruning and overwintering protection, so as to prevent du Ying from growing crooked or freezing to death, and at the same time do a good job in flood prevention.
