Breeding methods and matters needing attention of geranium: seedling breeding, pot care
Geranium is a perennial herb with rich flowers and colors and a graceful and graceful overall view. Geraniums are common in daily life and are generally used as potted farmers. How are such good geraniums raised? Is there any good method in breeding? What matters do we need to pay attention to in breeding? Please read on with me with questions.
Culture method of geranium (basic knowledge):
The best propagation time: geranium can be propagated in spring and autumn, and indoor pot sowing in spring is better.
The best growth soil: the sandy loam with fertile, loose and good drainage should be selected for geranium culture. The mixed culture soil of rotten leaf soil, garden soil and sand can also be selected. Put tiles at the bottom of the pot before planting to facilitate drainage.
Growth humidity requirements: geraniums like dryness and hate dampness, winter watering should not be too much, to see dry and wet. When the soil is wet, the stem is tender, which is not conducive to the sprouting and opening of flower branches.
The optimum growth temperature of geranium is 1624 ℃, and the most exuberant growth is in the cool climate of spring and autumn. It should be moved into the greenhouse in winter, the temperature should be kept at about 15 ℃, and not less than 8 ℃ at night.
The best growth light: geraniums like light, except the hot summer sun is very strong, need shade or put indoors to avoid direct sunlight, the rest of the time should receive sufficient sunlight, daily at least 4 hours of sunlight, so as to keep blooming all the year round.
Points for attention in culturing geraniums:
Application of fertilizer: the management of water and fertilizer should be strengthened during the growing period of geranium. Rarefied liquid fertilizer was applied 2-3 times a month, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be increased after flower bud differentiation.
Breeding points: geranium cuttings should not be propagated in summer, because high temperature cuttings are easy to blacken and rot.
Pruning essentials: in order to make the crown of the plant plump and compact, the geranium should be pruned from the seedling. In general, when the seedlings are 10 meters high, they pick their hearts and promote the development of new branches. Because of its rapid growth, it is trimmed and reshaped every year. Plants are generally pruned at least three times a year. The first time in March, mainly thinning branches; the second time in May, cut off the withered flowers and overdense branches; the Beginning of Autumn after the third pruning, mainly plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is mainly done according to personal preference.
Pest control:
1. Horticultural control: between geranium plants should be ventilated and transparent to avoid excessive humidity; do not spray water directly to avoid splashing water droplets to spread disease; do not select cuttings on diseased plants to remove all diseased leaves and branches, so as to avoid contaminated leaves by infected soil. The diseased soil should be treated centrally, and the soil and flowerpot should be sterilized if necessary. The pathogen can survive in the soil on the breeding bed and should avoid splashing the diseased soil on the healthy plant. Spray 1% Bordeaux solution every 10 to 15 days for prevention.
2, chemical control: spray agricultural streptomycin 1000 units, or try 14% glue amine copper 300 times solution, or 50% carbendazim 1000 times solution.
3. Thoroughly remove all diseased plants and disabled bodies. Flowerpots, planting tables and tools are washed and disinfected with 10% bleach solution, and the soil is disinfected with 2% formalin solution, or replaced with new soil. Disease-free seedlings were used.
4. 1% Bordeaux solution or (500-1000) X0.000001 agricultural streptomycin can be sprayed before and after the onset of pelargonium for several times.
Experience of cultivating geraniums:
1. Pruning and pruning should not be overweight, otherwise there are few long-term leaves, which will delay the growth period, resulting in a small number of flowers and flowering.
2. When the summer temperature is high and the plant goes into dormancy, watering should be controlled and fertilization should be stopped.
